Official Saints Trade thread
Thought it would be worth starting a thread for all the trade talk relevant to us
So far we have Armo on the table being sought by Richmond... Pick 11 rumoured apparently
Saints have again flagged pick 1 is on the table for a good enough offer
Interest has been shown in Jacksch, O'Rourke, Membrey

Re: Official Saints Trade thread
Reportedly Membrey has been asked to be traded to us
Deal will involve a 3 way trade

Bains confirmed that Membrey has requested us. Where did you hear the 3 way trade bit? Why can't we swap directly with Sydney?skeptic wrote:Reportedly Membrey has been asked to be traded to us

Re: Official Saints Trade thread
Afl.com is reporting it is believed that we want any deal for pick 1 to be separate from any trade for O'Rourke or Jaksch. No mention of 3 team trade for Membrey in that article.

Jaksch wants to go to Carlton, but at this stage Carlton don't have anything of interest to GWS.

With Tim membrey coming to us it makes the signing of Tom lee for 2 YEARS baffling.
Especially since they have said they have been watching Membrey throughout the year.
And how can they say Armitage not on the trade table."Good ordinary player" at best

A good average player is Dean Polo. On ability and endurance alone, Armo is more valuable. When you also factor in his value as a clubman, leader and rare age within our squad, he is one of our MVPs. Even with 'overs' deals, the question is how will his absence be covered?
Just My Opinion

Agree, Jack Steven and Armo had injury plagued years but I expect them to go 1 and 2 in the B&F next year if they can stay injury free.

"Saints unlikely to trade number one pick
St Kilda has the first pick in this year’s national draft and it seems increasingly unlikely that the last placed finishers from this season will trade the selection.
“Personally I don’t think pick one will be traded, unless a ridiculous deal comes in.
“There has been a lot of talk about Kristian Jaksch and Jono O’Rourke in terms of pairing them up for a pick one deal – but there are other clubs interested in those two.”
.....more good news...

OI would hope not because it makes little sense and we also have no second ruckman if he goes. It seems to me we are just getting heaps of forwards and hoping some make. Not sure I agree with the idea.

Re: Official Saints Trade thread
whats Hickey ?
say if Longer is our first ruck .. Hick would be our second ruck with Lewie Peirce as the third option .... and a last resort Holmes

Hickey is a ruckman as is Pierce, Holmes and Longer. None have shown any ability to play at least 60% as forwards. We are stock piling forwards and ruckmen but getting rid of Stanley would lose our only second ruck option. Its a very risky strategy especially as we seem to be stockpiling the most important players on the ground and they are mids. I actually don't mind Membury but its bloody confusing why we gave Lee another year especially as it seems we had our eye on Membury for a while.

so basically you are saying we have 4 ruckmen but we cant trade Stanley because we wont have a second ruckman ???plugger66 wrote:st_Trav_ofWA wrote:whats Hickey ?

lets be honest here Stanley still hasnt shown in consistant games he is capable of being an Effective forward either... Lee has the goods he just needs to a) get his body right and b) get a consistant run of games to develop more and c) (something all our forwards could benifit from) get some consistantly sound delivery into the forward line ...
