Re: Tim membrey
Trade Radio just spoke to Ameet Bains, confirmed Membrey, O'Rourke and Jakshe were all targets. Sounded like Membrey would happen, still waiting to hear Jakshe and O'Rourke's choice of clubs....

Looks like it's happening... it is strange because he certainly couldn't have been part of our broader plans (or spreadsheets) even a few weeks ago, so seems impulsive?

Re: Tim membrey
Dont know if any trade is impulsive, then again McEvoy would have suprised Hawthorn last year and I suppose that trade would be impulsive.FQF wrote:Looks like it's happening... it is strange because he certainly couldn't have been part of our broader plans (or spreadsheets) even a few weeks ago, so seems impulsive?
I dont know if they would go for him if he didn't fit the plans. Maybe a few more delistings on the way.
The rationale for taking him from Bains or Pelchan will be interesting

Re: Tim membrey
Why not......Membrey could have been on our radar all year....but obviously subject to his decision to come back to MelbourneFQF wrote:Looks like it's happening... it is strange because he certainly couldn't have been part of our broader plans (or spreadsheets) even a few weeks ago, so seems impulsive?

Re: Tim membrey
I think we are still searching for a productive middle-size forward and Membry may be worth the risk. TDL and Milera didn't do the job and Siposs really hasn't made much of a statement when given the chance.

Neither has Gardener or Gamble. The search continues...spert wrote:I think we are still searching for a productive middle-size forward and Membry may be worth the risk. TDL and Milera didn't do the job and Siposs really hasn't made much of a statement when given the chance.

Tim Membrey
Just heard Ameet Bains say on the KB show that St.K were well along the trail to securing T.M. from the swans. Also heard GWS were prepared to offer Malcheski a 3 year deal. If so wonder what Swans may try to prise off the western Syd outfit?

No one suggested three ways or using the number 1 pick. I think they are all standalone issues that the club is working through.matrix wrote:im pretty sure we wont be taking Petracca now

Re: Tim membrey
Third-round pick for Membrey? Seems like a fair bit to give up. I'm a fan of getting maximum value out of top 50 picks.
After late 50's picks you can speculate a bit. Which is where I'd have though Membrey would fall.
Our fourth-round selection should be enough to get the deal done. Third rounder still has currency; you can still grab a very good slider at that point.

Re: Tim membrey
I think 3rd round for Membrey is fine.
He was never going to be a regular for the Swans with the forward line they have.
He could well be a starting player for us next year given our shortage of true forwards at the moment.

Re: Tim membrey
What about a straight trade for Siposs??
Sippa seems to be a guy who needs to be forced out of his comfort zone, but has shown enough natural talent to suggest he could be something. I think Longmire and Dew could really see him as a project.

We dont need more list cloggers
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
Re: Tim membrey
He wouldn't be a list clogger. Would slot somewhere between 15-25 in our player rankings.magnifisaint wrote:We dont need more list cloggers

Re: Tim membrey
Sounds like this very close to a done deal.
For the record I think any deals involving Membrey, JOR and Jaksche are entirely and altogether separate to anything involving pick 1.
