Pre-Season Draft
It doesn't seem to happen as much these days, but is there anyone that we could be looking at having walk through to the pre-season draft? Would love to see us walk someone of decent quality through like a Tim Membrey or even a Levi Greenwood. The player must be uncontracted to do so.

Re: Pre-Season Draft
Tim Membrey or Levi Greenwood will be traded neither will walk to the PSD

It's seems to me that most clubs have more etiquette when it comes to the pre-season draft these days. But Jaksch or someone of similar potential would be great to pick up for nothing...

Surely St. Kilda would say to someone like J O'R 'pack up your locker, move back to Melbourne, get a house near Seaford and we guarantee we will take you no. 1 in the PSD.' Western Sydney can do nothing to stop it.

Not sure if JOR will be at the saints next year but I know for a fact he has already packed up all his belongings and moved back with his family in melbourne.

"Can do nothing to stop it" is technically true. But it doesn't happen much because clubs generally don't want to be bastards if they can possibly avoid it. You have to deal with GWS again next year. If you have a good relationship with them it hugely increases the chances of making future deals happen.Gershwin wrote:Surely St. Kilda would say to someone like J O'R 'pack up your locker, move back to Melbourne, get a house near Seaford and we guarantee we will take you no. 1 in the PSD.' Re: Pre-Season Draft
Seems to be more of a threat mechanism these days… forcing a club to actually get some kind of trade done, like Bruce last year.
Unless a player is really aggrieved, they don't want to leave a club for no compensation… as they usually have mates that they don't want disadvantaged by walking out.
Most mature, recycled players will get to a new club via free agency these days rather than through the PSD, I can barely see the point of it anymore to be honest.
