Re: Tim membrey
I wouldn't but id rather him than the likes of 3 to 5 year players who have struggled to become permanents at their club. His problem is he is a third tall at best because he is just a little small.
Re: Tim membrey
His problem is trying to get a go in a forward line which includes Tippet, Buddy, Goodes and Reid.
He's kicked 50 goals in both 2013 and 2014. Not bad for a 20 year old.

Re: Tim membrey
anything from the 3rd round onwards would be a worthwhile price for membrey. he is extremely strong for his size and extremely accurate on goal. the knock on him was his tank and agility, but it looks like he has worked hard on his tank and is starting to come through
would be a very good get at the right price
would be a very good get at the right price

Probably only playing A grade amateur standard though.
Re: Tim membrey
What I like about him is the simple fact he's a footy player first and an athlete second. He's like the opposite to Stanley.defacto wrote:anything from the 3rd round onwards would be a worthwhile price for membrey. he is extremely strong for his size and extremely accurate on goal. the knock on him was his tank and agility, but it looks like he has worked hard on his tank and is starting to come through

The problem with using a third round on him and a rumoured second round on jakach is we don't get hardly any unproven players and yes I know one could be an LJ but it could also be a Steven. Don't want to many with unproven AFL experience IMO. That would leave pick one and only probably pick 4 as new AFL players.

I wouldn't use a third on Membry. Pick 47 two years ago and played one senior game. 4/5 rounder at best.
Jaksch I'm not overly keen on. I'd prefer to use our 2nd on O'Rourke but seems he's off to Hawthorn.

i said third round as the likes of the doggies, essendon, carlton might force our handOld Mate wrote:I wouldn't use a third on Membry. Pick 47 two years ago and played one senior game. 4/5 rounder at best.

Re: Tim membrey
Our 3rd is too high a pick IMO even if a bidding war begins. Hopefully we come to terms with Membry - nice contract and worry about dealing with Syd later. We can get him in the PSD if needed.defacto wrote:i said third round as the likes of the doggies, essendon, carlton might force our handOld Mate wrote:I wouldn't use a third on Membry. we might not even be using a third rounder in the draftOld Mate wrote:Our 3rd is too high a pick IMO even if a bidding war begins. Good point. That would be to Syd's benefit.defacto wrote:we might not even be using a third rounder in the draftOld Mate wrote:Our 3rd is too high a pick IMO even if a bidding war begins. Re: Tim membrey
We may be looking at him with thought of playing him in the midfield. He's a goal kicker and would be a good height.

Re: Tim membrey
How many project forwards can we fit into the one side?
Stanley,Bruce,Lee,White
Rewoildt there for next two years, and now we are linked to Jaksch and Membrey?
Get a good one, otherwise stick to loading up on the midfield

Plus what we need is more cream. We already have a pretty big supporting cast...including guys with potential such as Hickey, Longer, Bruce....
Has only played 1 game!!! If he is very cheap maybe...but are we going to delist.
Our first 3 picks need to be on quality players.

Except Tim is 188cm, and Jack is 191cm.gringo wrote:Munga wrote:Could he be a Stevie J type?
He looks more a Hammill type undersized KPF. Jack Darling is a comparison I have heard.

Re: Tim membrey
His tank would need to have improved from a couple of years ago...but agreed this could be an option....especially if we trade #1.....big bodied former forward, turned midfielder that can kick goals (similar to Petracca)...howlinwolf wrote:We may be looking at him with thought of playing him in the midfield. A battle between him and Sipposs if we took him on. Hmmmm.

Re: Tim membrey
Good comparison. The NEAFL is a pretty weak comp so 100 goals for an AFL player in that comp is no mean feat..gringo wrote:Munga wrote:Could he be a Stevie J type?
