Tommy Walsh gone

Post: # 1505337Post plugger66 »

No pleasure in it but Tommy Walsh has decided to go back home to Ireland. Pity he just wasn't quite good enough.

Hopefully he sent money home before the Aussie dollar dropped.

Might have turned out differently if hed chosen to stay with us. Bad timing on his part when he went to Sydney as they were just entering their time. Oh well, you push on!!

I would have loved to have seen him have a bit of a run in the seniors. Sometimes they surprise you at the top level.

But 95% don't. Sadly the guy just wasn't up to it.

He got too impatient.
he may have made it as a saint but competing against Tippett, Buddy and Goodes for a forward post he never stood a chance.

Well in his defence 2 of them weren't there when he went there and he was offered great money. Why not do it. Probably set up for life if he invested well.

2011 draft picks 35 (Daniel Markworth) and 58 (Beau Wilkes/Maister)
It was a compromised draft so those picks were probably worth picks 48 and 81 in an uncompromised draft.

We have cut Maister so it up to you Daniel Markworth.

Hope he had better investment advisers than Lyon had via De Swannies.

He also copped a fairly serious hamstring injury whilst at Sydney, some haven't come back from that type of injury, just ask Jason

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Well we are already in front as Maister played 21 games for us, and Walsh had just the 5 for the Swans.

Any games that Markworth gets will just boost that margin.
