Can't see those trades happening though.
That is obviously sarcasm saying Ok. Lets get a few things straight with trades. Cameron is a pick one plus a reasonably player, Parker is a pick one plus a reasonable player. Our best player for trading is Jack. He is, based on his best form, a top 10 player. We have no other players that are worth anything apart from first year players. Pick one is overrated if you can get a player with huge potential who is already in the system. This year, no matter what some say on here, there is no standout pick one. At the moment there is no next Judd or Franklin. That may change when number one gets in the system. If I was Pelchen then the one thing I wouldn't do is downgrade pick one for 2 picks unless one was top5 and the other top 10 but what I would look at is what Melbourne did last year or just trade pick one for a potential star. The other option is to keep it which I expect will happen.
Cameron yes is worth Pick one and maybe a sweetner but Parker is borderline Pick one at best.
Very unlucky to miss AA and would expect him to be AA in the future. How many pick ones have been AA from the last 10 years drafting? It isnt often a pick one is that good of a player. Well certainly in the last few years. We obviously have different ideas of the value of pick one. For example I would take Tom Mitchell for pick one. I doubting from your rating of Parker you would even contemplate that idea.

No I wouldnt take Mitchell with pick one alone I would want something else. Clearly if there is such interest in Pick one to gain Petrraca he must have something special about him.

There is interest every year in pick one but that doesn't mean the person picked becomes a star. Maybe the teams that want pick one don't want Petracca. All I know is the people who know a fair bit about the draft like Kevin Sheehan say its a very even draft with no clear standout pick one yet. May change if a player has a blinder at the draft camp. may become more confusing.
In fact looking at that every player from 2000 to 2005 has done pretty well for awards. Admittedly the guys since then have a fair bit of ground to make up.

He also said there was no clear number one pick and that's the pick we are talking about.
Yet recruiters have been quoted as saying its clearly Pettracca.
Yes there are some and also others saying there isn't. Petracca was even a pick 5 before the under 18 carnival. The draft camp may change things again.
We will get a lot more value from trading Pick 1 to GWS that we will to Sydney.
GWS want Petracca. The want a guy who can be a specialist half forward, they are up to their ears in gun mids and key position players, now they're looking for a bit of silk. He's their Stevie J. They have a gap to fill and are desperate to get their man.
They probably realise that whoever they can get at 3 (McCartin, Brayshaw, Wright etc.) isn't going to improve their best 25 straight away, which is what they need - immediate improvement.
As far as im concerned if they want the pick that bad they can offer the farm or they can get stuffed. Same goes with Sydney and anyone else that sniffs around the pick.

One deal being discussed is Pick 1 to GWS in return for Jacksch, 4 & 20. Saints then take McCartin with 4 and end up with 3 inside 21. This seems like the best deal if were thinking of trading Pick 1. Seems GWS have a hard on for Petracca so it might be worth considering!?
The thing that seems to be getting missed in all these discussions about pick 1 is why it is so sought after. Without commenting on the veracity of all the rumours, why would Sydney trade away one of its best young mids, or GWS a star or two? If Petracca is so highly rated, then I would prefer keeping him.

That would make complete sense if every pick in the draft they got was correct however they can make mistakes like every other club. GWS don't want a tall and that maybe all that is available at pick 4. The Sydney thing seems like a complete rumour with bugger all basis at all.

GWS could probably get Dangerfield or the like with pick 4 + Shiel/Cameron. Doesn't seem like Petracca is their best bet if they want to trade away pick 4.
I can just see it now.
The start of Trade Period.
St Kilda set up a trestle table with a couple of chairs behind it.
On the table is a sign saying
PICK #1
Ready to deal
Sitting on the chairs are Pelchen and Elshaugh
who just sit there and field offers from whomever turns up.
Let the circus begin!
