Nee!
Re: GWS to get pick 1
I want Petracca. But surely we have the whip hand, so if GWS want him so badly they need to pay overs, eg CAMERON AND SHIELDS or HOSKIN ELLIOT etc. Jaksch and and Orourke have played only a few games and shown very little to date.
Re: GWS to get pick 1
Not a guess I promise....while it isn't a lock it comes from someone close to the club. Basically we want him bad and are doing everything to get him including trading pick one.
Not a guess but not a definite. Just one possibility and for me the most preferred one.
But you never know until he sitting at that press conference.

Re: GWS to get pick 1
The player I want from GWS is Sheil. He's a proven starstar already. Just what we need.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Cameron for pick 1 is fair....he is already very good and could well turn into the best forward in the league
Getting their current pick 3 for say Monty would be great

Personally don't think Shiel is that good. Every chance Petracca will overtake him quickly.
Treloar and WHE are the two I'd have at the very top of the list.

Based on what? I haven't read anything at all from people who would know. Im sorry but I don't count anyone on here based on previous form and to those who will abuse it obviously includes me. In 7 years on here I reckon we have got about 5 right. Cameron sounds like huge odds to me considering he has a contract and we haven't bottomed out. Money is our only hope. We would need a million. He is worth that but still think pick one cant get it done especially with Patton gone.

Re: GWS to get pick 1
Last year Jaxons got the Longer, Delaney, Bruce & Savage/McEvoy trades spot on. He even knew the picks to be used prior to the trades going through. The only thing I recall him getting wrong was Choco as coach. Who knows possibly he was a lock at one stage until Richo became avail.plugger66 wrote:evo wrote:Looks like Brian_Speaking was on the money. Hope so.

In regards to the Cameron trade it seems unlikely especially with Patton out next year but there's two sources that say he at least wants to come to St Kilda and an in principle offer has been accepted pending release from GWS.

Re: GWS to get pick 1
I would say that the only reason that GWS would do the Cameron deal this year is that Cameron is out of contract next season. If, as expected we are down the bottom next year even with #1 of the PSD GWS may get nothing for him, or we would hold the whip hand in a trade.plugger66 wrote:evo wrote:Looks like Brian_Speaking was on the money. This of course is predicated on the fact that
1) Cameron still want s out
2) We are #1 in the PSD
3) Cameron would get the best offer from us for a PSD draft
4) GWS doesn't get a better trade offer.
So lots of ifs and buts.
personally I would look at the Jaksch JOR and pick 4 deal and then pick up either McCartin or Wright @ pick 4 or if Melbourne pick both with 2 &3 (unlikely), we would still get Brayshaw.

Re: GWS to get pick 1
Could it be that Chris Pelchen went on a "Fishing Expedition" in that interview on SEN? If so, he has reeled in plenty, including some/plenty on here. Afterall, we are in the middle of Draft/Trade RUMOUR SEASON !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Re: GWS to get pick 1
It won't be Cameron. It just won't be. They have zero interest in trading him.
They'll look to package up their fringe players - O'Rourke and Jaksch - most probably with Pick Four and then see what we will give them in return. That'll be Pick 1, plus James Gwilt, plus something further down the draft.
We already know GWS wants Gwilt (http://www.theage.com.au/afl/melbourne- ... 0fpiq.html) and if there's a three-way tussle between them, Adelaide and Melbourne, his trade value increases.
Which is why I'll never understand why the club announced publicly that he was out - arguably halving his potential trade value at the outset. Lets hope his trade value gets driven up towards the third-round pick mark.

then they can lose him for nothing the year after
you reckon if he said 'i want out' they would look at trading him?
or let him go for nothing after one more years service?
going to be an interesting off season
ryder wanting out
beams wanting out
dangerfield rumors
cameron rumors
pick one on the table
teams trading picks and players willy nilly before FA hits them
love it

That's it in a nutshell matrix.
Depends how much GWS want Petracca.
if they are desperate they will have to trade overs.
If they want to give their dregs in the hope of snaring #1 forget it.
If we don't trade, we get Petracca. If we trade it might be Reid and Mitchell for pick #1
The player who can walk away from the deal is the player with the power.
We cant lose. Worst case scenario is we retain the #1 pick.
Wow what a tragedy

We're not interested in fair though.fugazi wrote:Cameron for pick 1 is fair....he is already very good and could well turn into the best forward in the league
Getting their current pick 3 for say Monty would be great
Us keeping pick 1 and using it on Petracca is also fair
If they want it badly enough... Make them pay
Shiels and Cameron is an outrageous price... Start there and negotiate until we get a good deal
Essentially what we would be losing is the player deemed as the next Chris Judd, remember that
Re: GWS to get pick 1
If he is that good then its not worth trading him for anything. Literally Cameron + 4 is not worth a Judd level player IMO..skeptic wrote: Essentially what we would be losing is the player deemed as the next Chris Judd, remember that
So it comes down to is Patracca really the next Judd, or do we see him as realistically a rung below?
