Good luck to The Big Boy
Have a good game tomorrow for Box Hill in the VFL GF tomorrow.
But more importantly seize your chance to replace the Collingwood muppet Jonathon Ceglar and grab "your" spot in The Granny.

He needs a bit more mongrel I reckon Macca. Clarkson likes that niggly, aggressive attitude from his players. He's a big unit with good marking but there's a bit of the 'gentle giant' about Ben. If he doesn't make it in this year Hawks could still be up for another couple of years the way they've brilliantly managed to get some good fast young players through - and Box Hill hawks in VFL grannie.

Big Mac is almost a spud, Ceglar deserves to keep his spot.
I hope the Bulldogs win, in spite of Box Hill being being allowed to load up it's team with extra Hawks players

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Should not be playing. How the hell did the Hawks get past his not being qualified?

If the seniors are playing the same weekend then I think anyone not in the senior side is allowed to play if not qualified games wise.Munga wrote:Should not be playing. How the hell did the Hawks get past his not being qualified?
McEvoy shouldn't have played last week because the hawks weren't playing.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Explain that rule because I have never heard of it.

Re: Good luck to The Big Boy
The rule (20.8) is pretty simple, to qualify to play VFL finals a player must have played 6 games during the H&A season.plugger66 wrote:Munga wrote:Should not be playing. How the hell did the Hawks get past his not being qualified?

McEvoy did not qualify, but the rules were bent to allow him to play.
I don't wish any ill on Mac, but it sucks for Williamstown… beaten by 7 points in the prelim by Box Hill with a BOG player that didn't qualify to play. Why bother even having rules if they don't stick to them?

That was last week. He can play this week. No rule can stop that. By the way they also broke the rule last year. Unfortunately the VFL means jack. Not like it once was and maybe we should just have reserves again in Victoria.

With so many AFL teams fielding their own VFL team it's morphing that way in any case. Nice to agree with you for once plugs.

Yep, last week he was best on ground in a 7 point premil final win that he didn't qualify to play in.plugger66 wrote:That was last week.
Let's be honest Box Hill wouldn't have even made this week if they'd upheld the rules.

Im not doubting that but there is no rule being broken this week. The VFL should be a different comp from the AFL and the AFL in Victoria should have reserves with basically no rules so that we get players ready for what really matters. Sadly the VFL is now really a nothing comp.

Much like Dal and BJ, I need Mac to fail.
In the end, he is a pretty crappy ruck anyway so a team with him playing is sure to be at a disadvantage.

It's now obvious who the winners were out of the McEvoy deal. It was Box Hill.

Hope he plays well and then plays for the Hawks in an AFL premiership

What was it we got for him? That's right Pick 18 (Dunstan), Pick 19 (Acres) & Savage. Well done to Pelchen & his team.
