If the seniors are playing the same weekend then I think anyone not in the senior side is allowed to play if not qualified games wise.

The rule (20.8) is pretty simple, to qualify to play VFL finals a player must have played 6 games during the H&A season.

McEvoy did not qualify, but the rules were bent to allow him to play.

I don't wish any ill on Mac, but it sucks for Williamstown… beaten by 7 points in the prelim by Box Hill with a BOG player that didn't qualify to play. Why bother even having rules if they don't stick to them?

Im not doubting that but there is no rule being broken this week. The VFL should be a different comp from the AFL and the AFL in Victoria should have reserves with basically no rules so that we get players ready for what really matters. Sadly the VFL is now really a nothing comp.
