Yeah but how good are there under-24s? When our youngsters played their youngsters in the final round of 2013, we smacked them. Yes we were retiring a few stars, but they were playing for possible spots in a finals team.dragit wrote:They actually have a huge bunch of under 24's playing each week, so they aren't heading anywhere near our 2011-zone yet.Enrico_Misso wrote:He hasn't completely stuffed the Dockers list yet.

Our youngsters? We had 10 players 29 and over.ctqs wrote:Yeah but how good are there under-24s? When our youngsters played their youngsters in the final round of 2013, we smacked them. That was a different set of under 24's - the WAFL brigade.ctqs wrote:Yeah but how good are there under-24s? When our youngsters played their youngsters in the final round of 2013, we smacked them. Their list profile is pretty healthy, short a couple of key players obviously.
Can't see fremantle letting Ross slaughter their list.

Re: crows coach gets the chop
I wonder if the Crows board fell into the trap of thinking they had what they a top 4 list. Well they dont but Sanderson had been developing some good kids to come through. From an outsiders perspective I thought he was doing a good job - but obviously the club didnt?
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!
Re: crows coach gets the chop
I also thought he was doing a good job. He has some star talent, but he's also had a lot of issues that were beyond his control. Starting with Tippet and the loss of crucial draft picks. Van Berlo out for the season, Bailey's death. It seems extremely premature and impulsive from the outside.WinnersOnly wrote:I wonder if the Crows board fell into the trap of thinking they had what they a top 4 list. But we don't as yet know the real reason.
Must be a scandal or he was totally off the rails like Twatters.

Well if reports are correct that Dangerfield has had a falling out with the coach and Riscutto and Dangerfield are business partners, Riscutto has a conflict of interest making a call on Sanderson IMO.

Players have too much say in whether a coach stays or goes. McKenna must then be worried and I've never rated him as a good coach.

Sounds like another case of a club bowing to a few prima donnas who only want to hear warm and fuzzy things and will spit the dummy and leave if the coach doesn't go...

I think their finish in a prelim got everyone thinking they were a lot closer than they were. Losing Tippett then picks has started a slide along with injuries and the players have got shitty and want someone to blame. Trigg pretty much blew the place up then ran with the cash leaving the implosion.
Re: crows coach gets the chop
Apparently Riscutto co-owns a hotel in Adelaide with Dangerfield, Sloane and Tex Walker. Sounds like an absurd conflict of interest, verging on corruption.SaintPav wrote:Well if reports are correct that Dangerfield has had a falling out with the coach and Riscutto and Dangerfield are business partners, Riscutto has a conflict of interest making a call on Sanderson IMO.

Re: crows coach gets the chop
Never rated Sanderson at all.
Utter wuss of a player, and clearly his wussiness rubbed off on his team.
Having said that, sacking a bloke without having anyone lined up comes across as a panic job. With Port dominating the town over there, it's possible they just lost their nerve and pulled the trigger.

The Crows list is just not that good. This is hardly anything new over the three seasons since Sanderson joined he club.WinnersOnly wrote:I wonder if the Crows board fell into the trap of thinking they had what they a top 4 list. It was not good enough to challenge in 2004-2007 and the remnants and subsequent 'rebuild' without high draft picks have yielded not much apart from a side that is mid-table

His papers were stamped after round 7 when they were humbled by Melbourne at The Adelaide Oval sadly.
