Re: crows coach gets the chop
This is Adelaide's statement (what does the bit about "different perspectives" mean?):
The Adelaide Football Club and Senior Coach Brenton Sanderson have agreed to part ways.
This follows an extensive review of the Club’s entire football operations.
Chairman Rob Chapman, Board directors Andrew Payze and Mark Ricciuto, Head of Football David Noble and Sanderson have been involved in the post-season analysis.
“Brenton is a quality person and accomplished coach, but recent weeks have unearthed a need for change,” Chapman said.
“Both parties have realised they have different perspectives on where we are at as a footy team.
“It is a tough decision but one the Club feels pushes us closer to realising our ambitions.
“We would like to thank Brenton for his contribution and wish him every success.”
The Club is embarking upon a nationwide search for a new Senior Coach.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

They are losing their s***/panicking because they cant handle seeing Port successful
Vossy? Basset?
Surely Lyon wont jump ship with 3 years left on his contract?

If I remember correctly, I remember an interview with Dangerfield about him leaving the Crows and he said something like "as long as Sando is here, I'm staying"

Re: crows coach gets the chop
Would love to have him come to us but that won't happen.
He's odds-on to get the next available job - be it at the Dogs or Gold Coast. Even Melbourne should make him an assistant to Roos before a transition.
This guy can coach. Ask anyone at Geelong.

It will be Simon Goodwin.
Re: crows coach gets the chop
Sack a coach out of the blue for an untried coach in Goodwin, who's been up to his eyeballs in a drug scandal?
Don't rate Sanderson as a coach, but if it's signed & sealed as Goodwin already, stupid move that may backfire massively..

Apart from the drug scandal part isn't that what we did.

I don't think he was found to be at fault at all though. maybe I am wrong but that's what I remember.

And the rumblings about Watters' lunatic antics were coming thick and fast...Sobraz wrote:Thats a pretty big "apart".plugger66 wrote:Sobraz wrote:Sack a coach out of the blue for an untried coach in Goodwin, who's been up to his eyeballs in a drug scandal?

Yep and maybe its similar in Adelaide. You don't sack a coach like that unless there is some sort of unrest. Well common sense suggests that.

Re: crows coach gets the chop
I don't know if he can coach or not, but gee, he was unlucky.
Two seasons back they were looking good, then the whole Tippet thing happened.
Sanderson lost his key forward/best ruckman (according to many),
then lost the draft picks that could well have provided the finishing touches to a possible premiership contender,
then lost his other power forward (Walker) to long term injury.
The debacle that caused the loss of Tippet and those draft picks wasn't the coach's doing. Unbeknowns to him, the administration were doing secretive illegal off-the-books player payments.
So, welcome Trigg back (who then walked out on them anyway ), and sack the coach...
That sux Crones...
As for Goodwin, I've heard he ain't so far from the pointy end of things when it comes to the Effndope scandal. Wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.

Re: Will Ross Lyon replace Sanderson
He hasn't completely stuffed the Dockers list yet.
He would feel he has another chance there next year - but maybe his last?

They actually have a huge bunch of under 24's playing each week, so they aren't heading anywhere near our 2011-zone yet.Enrico_Misso wrote:He hasn't completely stuffed the Dockers list yet.
