Another nail in the coffin for Ross Lyons style of play.
Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Confirms for me to go for mids over a key forward, unless the key forward is a genuine #1 pick.
20 goals from 6 smalls/mids.

Re: Suck it up Freo
I was just hoping for a close enjoyable game.
Then as Port came back I was barracking for them so hard.
At the moment there is nothing to hate about Port, but freo have Ross and even though I didn't think I had resentment for him I think I must.
Freo are gone now this year and you couldn't see them being better next year with their age demographic and that puts Ross under real pressure.
He is obviously thought of as being a great coach but how long can he get without a premiership?
Anyway too drunk to make sence right now

Re: Suck it up Freo
Yeah I'm starting to think same - just load up on gun mids aka Petracca and when the cupboards choc talented do a Swans and go buy a big name forward - gun kids in as mids will be cheaper now and look at Wynes .... I'm also starting to think putting all eggs in big forward basket could be detrimental...dragit wrote:Confirms for me to go for mids over a key forward, unless the key forward is a genuine #1 pick.

I'm thinking that the extra year for Roo will mean we go for Petracca and develop Stanley Lee, and look at talls next draftTeflon wrote:Yeah I'm starting to think same - just load up on gun mids aka Petracca and when the cupboards choc talented do a Swans and go buy a big name forward - gun kids in as mids will be cheaper now and look at Wynes .... Still love listening to Ross Lyon talk. Gives so much more than any other coach in a presser.

Nearly choked when Darcehole said, "That's what I love about Ross Lyon, he's always looking ahead like great coaches do ..."

But you have to make allowances for the IQ of D'Arcy and Taylor. Richo is the only one worth listening to, Ling is good too.

Four score and ten. It's the end of a 2nd era, with no premierships to show. When will he tee-up another club to head to - will he get another gig?

Re: Suck it up Freo
Must have brought back memories of the 2009 grand final for Lyon. Dominating first half and kicking all those behinds, then the game fades a way from you. Freo should have been been 7 goals up at half time, just like we should have in 2009

Seems to think about what he's going to say and then say it without bs. Pretty rare.BakesFan wrote:Richo is rapidly becoming the best commentator in the game.thejiggingsaint wrote:But you have to make allowances for the IQ of D'Arcy and Taylor.
