Red Symons was celebrating another Royal Baby by playing "Having my Baby" by Paul Anker.
A perfect song for our re-birth. "Having my Baby; what a lovely way to say you Love Me ......
I can see it, I can see it growing ........... I can see it in your eyes and I'm happy in knowin ....

Re: Saints own Song.
Just pretend this song is about the premiership cup and the heart ache for a saints fan .
Here I lie
in a lost and lonely part of town
Held in time
In a world of tears I slowly drown
Goin'home
I just can't make it all alone
I really should be holding you
Holding you
Loving you loving you
Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you you're
goin' nowhere
Tragedy
When you lose control and you got no soul
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one beside you you're
goin' nowhere
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
Night and day
there's a burning down inside of me
Burning love
With a yearning that won't let me be
Down I go
and I just can't take it all alone
I really should be holding you
Holding you
Loving you loving
Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you you're

Re: Saints own Song.
Very tragic!
Is there music to go with the tragic lyrics?

How could you beat this song to inspire the birth of a new side.

Re: Saints own Song.
Surely somewhere in the lyrics we could include. ---- St.Kilda won the premiership

Re: Saints own Song.
Talking Heads - 'Road to Nowhere'
catchy but possibly a little defeatist
Public Enemy 'Don’t Believe The Hype'
AFL marketing folk may not like it
Pet Shop Boys - 'What Have I Done To Deserve This?'
doesn't really have a chorus though
Nick Cave 'The Mercy Seat'
Quite dark and maybe a bit long for the pregame
Taking Heads -'Once in a lifetime'
No! we can't give in
Bon Jovi - 'Livin' on a prayer'
probably just right at the moment. I'll sing along when I'm down for a game.

Re: Saints own Song.
A lot of votes for U2/Greenday, but we already used that at the start of every home game a few years ago. Was it 2011? It was a great highlights reel, but no one sang along.

Re: Saints own Song.
What about " shut uppa ya face ! "
An absolute classic .....
Or even better " Sunshine lollipops and rainbows !"
the Sonny and Cher version . The leslie gore version wouldn't be hard core enough .

At the moment (and for a couple of years to come ) Wake Me Up When September Ends
Every home game there should be a bit of U2 and Green Day - The Saints Are Coming. The Song has a line in it about rebirth too

What about the song from Rose Tattoo - we can't be beaten
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
