Saints own Song.
Hearing "Never Tear Us Apart" before the Port game on Sunday - what song could Saints make their own,
Re: Saints own Song.
I thought that was the cheesiest sh#t I've ever heard.
Why don't we play Stand By Me and light candles ..... just to take the vomit level up a notch.

How about " Does your chewing gum loose it's flavour on the bed post overnight" ?
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"
Go Sainters !!!!!

Re: Saints own Song.
There was an old song in the 60s that went along the lines of "They're coming to take me away ho ho, he he, ha ha, to the Funny Farm..."
Could be appropriate for us fans

Re: Saints own Song.
Great suggestion.
The Star-Spangled Banner would be terrific and the crowd could chant "God Bless America"

Re: Saints own Song.
yeah its a bit corny isnt it, that song
yet look at their numbers at the footy compared to three years ago
look at the unity
look at the scarfs held high
look at the teal blue strips along the lighting on the boundary when the players run out
then compare it to when we run out at the dome
you can thank kochy for that
love them or hate them
theyve got it right
we could learn something

Re: Saints own Song.
I love that song, but the Newcastle Jets got in first. They play it when the players walk out.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Re: Saints own Song.
well queen did do a song called Brighton Rock and at the end it goes into the 'i do like to be beside the seaside' bit
but if youve heard the song the intro is not really suited to footy with freddies voice
however
the guitar in it is awesome, as is the live version on Live Killers

Port have succeeded in making it a better experience to be at the ground than watching it on tv.

(U2/Greenday) I vote this, from the chorus - the crowd would do a good job of belting out "The Saints Are Coming"RW&B wrote:

Re: Saints own Song.
actually i reckon you are right ROLS
it was seven seas of rhye (another great song)
see if you can grab the Live Killers version of Brighton
and while your at it check out Ogre Battle
another cool guitar riff from the early days
we could always go with We Will Rock you
and after a win
Another one bites the dust

Re: Saints own Song.
i was at the Port game at Adelaide Oval and I can honestly say that I got goosebumps when they played never tear us apart. They have done a fantastic job of re-engaging their fans, they went from getting less than 20,000 to a game to sell outs week in week out.
All of you that criticise and call this stuff cheesy and American have to spend one game at Adelaide oval, I would kill to have that atmosphere at our home games.

Re: Saints own Song.
agreed
its fantastic and they have done it well
does it matter that people think its cheesey?
nope
what matters is membership numbers and people rocking up to home games

Exactly and cheesy to an old supporter maybe great to a young kid and I know who is more important for the future.
