We won't get any compo if he moves via FA after being delisted.

Difference between not being offered another contract to being delisted when it comes to FA.

Don't think the final delist have to be in until late October?

If (very very very big if) Gwilt was picked up by another club, we would get FA compo.

But I very much doubt he will be picked up. You get cut from the bottom team, you would think your time is well and truly up.

I think he thinks he will be picked up and so do some at the Saints. Im with you but who knows. Even if he was picked up though there wouldnt be any compensation.

Why Plugger? Isn't he a FA?

Thought we would get something

Hawks didn't get anything for Young & Murphy, so why would we get anything for Gwilt?

If he gets picked up I would think his contract will only be a year on a pretty low salary. I dont think they always give compensation. Anyway wouldnt he be a delisted FA?

Hawks got a 3rd round pick for Young. Murphy wasn't worth anything.

Sounds like he isn't actually de-listed yet, I imagine they will wait till FA period in case he does provide some compensation.
I'd say Gwilt would be in the clinton young category, a 3rd round pick for us this year would be around 40 which would be useful.

Im pretty sure he is or will be delisted before all the trading starts.

So Schnieder is done?

As much as I love him, it is a bit of a problem when the bloke's weekly videos are more entertaining than his football over a 12 month period...

I think the club are trying to hold their cards and are "not offering another contract" rather than delisting. That allows you to receive compo where delisting doesn't. It is essentially the same thing but with out writing off your chance at some form of compensation from FA.

which is kind of the obvious thing to do
possibly getting the chance of a compo pick is certainly better than no chance

They are both already listed as de-listed here

http://www.afl.com.au/news/features/ret ... delistings

I guess they would have a pretty good idea if Gwilt had any interest from other clubs… maybe there is none.

There is no chance of getting a pick in FA IMO. Have a look at players who didnt get compensation over the last 2 years.
