Agree - staying at Seaford because we dont want to 'hurt its feelings' is no reason to stay.saintspremiers wrote:Who cares?Spinner wrote:So I really don't get this... What the hell happens to Seaford if we leave?
Its a sunk cost. Cut our losses and move on.
Sticking the course at Seaford would be akin to the 'Concorde fallacy'.

Re: Keep Saints at Seaford
The way I heard it, the AFL would buy the complex and come up with a deal to give it to the Mornington Peninsula League.
So that should the Frankston Council up, as it would be a community access sports complex.
My opinion of Seaford, is that it's an impressive sports complex for a group of athletes but as a supporter, the "You're Not Welcome" hangs over the front desk.
No seating around the arena, having to use the toilets in the neighbouring football oval which are not great.
But I thing what drives the message home us all if Hall of Fame, the list of every player ever to play for the Saints displays are all hidden from the supporters.
No taking your kids to Seaford to see photos of the great Doc Baldock, no passing on the history of our club to anyone because it's all hidden out of the view of the supporters.
So wherever they go, please design a place whereby the supporters are actually welcomed and not quarantined from the players.

Re: Keep Saints at Seaford
In terms of pro-Seaford...
well there's only one real argument but it's a big one IMO...
It's there. The actual first rate facility is there and readily available to us... it gotp lanned, and completed, and made available in a timely manner
The thing ppl forget when criticising the board is that Moorabbin (where I'm from) and other ventures where simply guilty of going nowhere slowly.
Chances are if we stayed at Moorabbin to work through the issues... we'd still be in exactly the same position we're in now but with a lot worse injuries/development etc

It will go to the Pines FC. All along the Seaford facility was all part of Nathan's long term plan to deliver a state of the art club house to his REAL footy love - Pines FC.......Spinner wrote:So I really don't get this... What the hell happens to Seaford if we leave?
