Former Players- where are they now

Post: # 1444064Post saintbrat »

I know this type of thread has been started before But I can't find it to re hash

read during the week of the Former players gathering for last weeks game.

and assume the player on the extreme right was there as a conduit to the current list.

Great to see former players willing to follow up attempts by the club to get them re connected.

noted that a more recent delisting is playing in the Red White and Black again
Nick Salter was no sooner through the Ainslie door than coach Chris Rourke was on to him about bringing some of his mates across from Adelaide.

The former Port Power player is the only ex-AFL player that a Canberra club was able to land during the off-season and he joins ex-St Kilda player Nick Heyne at the club at the Tricolours

Why didn't Kosi get in the best or snag a goal?

Caydn Beetham has had quite the footy experience since quitting

I believe he is back at Old Xavs after
A bunch of Grand Finals, B&F and medals at
Xavs, Sorrento and in the Queensland

Rated the best player one bloke from Xavs has ever played with

What a pity there

The poster 'philip' (or was it 'phillip'???) will be so pleased with this news. He was Caydn Beetham's greatest fan................ NOT !!!!! :x :x :x :x :x :x

Pity Beetham's Mum was nearby when 'philip/phillip' was giving her boy Cayden a spray one afternoon

Are you still lurking out there 'phil'????????

Gary Colling

http://www.saints.com.au/news/2014-05-0 ... ry-colling
What about your first game?

Myself, Jimmy O'Dea and Johnny Evans were the only three recruits from that year who made it. It was a fairly old side. I played one reserves game, against South Melbourne, and then I was straight into the seniors. I had just turned 18.

I played against Melbourne, on Brian Dixon. Jeansy said that Melbourne had about four ways of kicking a goal, and they all revolved around Brian Dixon. He said to me, “Look, Laddy (which he said for the next 10 years for me), don't let him get a kick, just do your job.” So at one stage I ended up playing on Hassa Mann on the half forward flank.

My football earnings for the year equated to a second-hand car, and I played 16 or 17 games, including finals. We smashed Geelong in round 18 and played them again in the first semi-final, and it was virtually a reverse. We got absolutely toweled up.

One saint replaces another at Beaumaris

BFC and STEVE LAWRENCE Part Company

22-Aug-2014
Senior Coach, Steve Lawrence has departed the Beaumaris Football Club.

In the aftermath of the 62 point loss to Collegians Steve felt the different direction he wanted to take the group in was at odds with what certain parts of the Club wanted.

Steve informed the Club that he would not be coaching here next year and it was better to part ways now rather than at the end of the season

President Ron Buller said that he was shocked that it happened so quickly and that Lawrence had decided to finish early, but he and the Committee respected Lawrence’s decision.

“It was a shock, but we have the utmost respect for Steve and what he has done with the football club this year and certainly thank him for the contribution he has made to Beaumaris” said Buller. “Nevertheless the decision was an amicable one for both parties to separate now, rather than wait until the end of the season,” he said.

The BFC Committee have confirmed that Raphael Clarke will take over coaching duties for the final two home and away matches of the season.

Love how he brought up that arsehole Ablett whose thuggery cost a flag chance back in the days of only 2 on the bench.

Not enough in the press has been made out about that.

What does St Kilda mean to you?

I’ve met some great people here and formed some fantastic friendships. I was captain of the club which was a huge honour.

I’m glad I played a part at this footy club and was able to wear the jumper. Now I’m focused on bringing the next generation through so the club can achieve the ultimate success again. I don’t take my involvement for granted and love coming into work everyday.
