Pretty tough there Plugger - were you as open/shut last year with ragards to Kosi because he certainly didn't warrant a game on form? I think there's certainly room in the team for a farewell game in either of the last 2 rounds given our huge injury list. Good reward for a commited team man and clearly a popular member of the playing group.

Yes i was actually but most didnt agree with me. Im not expecting everyone to agree now. By the Kosi had announced he was retiring so at the moment its completely different case.
Big difference, Kosi actually won games and had a career.

Jones has been at the right place at the right time when we needed a retarded, mumbling, bumbling fool of a footballer who could not kick on the list.

So no, go away, never come back.

Yep great stuff calling anyone retarded is excellent but a saints player really exceeds excellent.

Yes, very well said. Especially if Clint deserves to be in our best 22. The fact that he may not be out future should not detract from his right to a dignified farwell. As Bluthy says, we can be proud and loyal Saints fans.

Player that is bizarrely kept on the list despite not being able to kick the football.

Supporters expect him to get respected despite being plain garbage.

Oh wait, he tries hard.

I guess most people have some level of respect for anyone who has been fortunate enough to pull on a saints jumper and play AFL football.
I'm not a massive Clint fan, but to play 100+ games for us deserves a certain level of respect.
When you spew out vitriolic obscenities about saints players on a saints fan forum, people will understandably get upset.
Do you enjoy upsetting people?

Don't be.

"That other poster" has a track record when it comes to CJ.

He is just an ignoramus seeking attention.

It's the typical behavior of a simpleton and a boofhead.

I have never read anything interesting or informative from this poster.

He is a sad case and a bore.

You can't reason with a moron and someone with a low intellect.

He's enjoying the attention and he's just getting his jollies.

He doesn't understand concepts like respect and decency.

Obviously has confidence and self esteem issues in the real world.

Sad.

By all means, but only if it guarantees we still lose and ensure that Melbourne can't slip their percentage below ours.

I don't see why Jones should be gifted a farewell game. He either earns it or he doesn't play. I don't think many footballers get the chance to how out on their terms. He was a good player and will be remembered for getting the best out of himself.

Lets not turn this thread into an attack on Redeemer.

I respect what Jones has done in his career - 133 games puts you in the top 6% Saints ever in terms of number of games played - he deserves dignity - but I feel uncomfortable about a 'farewell game'.

I'm not sure why - its just my view.

I guess I see that he put a lot into the club - but its not all one way traffic. You could argue the club gave him much more than he gave the club. The club gave him 133 games and a career as a professional footballer when not many other clubs would have. So it goes both ways.

I just feel a bit uneasy about all these frequent 'farewell games'.

I just dont know where the line is for sentiment and tradition to be honest. I understand people are calling for sentiment and tradition and rewarding loyalty and all of that emotional stuff but there must be a limit.

Obvioulsy Roo and FIsher will get farewell games. Then Joey and Dempster I guess.

Do Gwilt and Schneids get them too? I guess so. Then Faz gets one too at some stage in the ntdf.

I guess when we are losing the fans some 'feel good'. Nothing wrong with that.
