Agree but I'm not a kid or a teenie bopper.
My 9 yr old daughter liked some of the gimmicky shyte and I'm sure many youngsters would in general. You gotta pander to a wide range of ages not just us old Internet fuddy duddys!
The reason our crowds have dropped off is because the ruddy duddies don't like all that crap. Let's face it 9 year olds are not the demographic that is going to save the Saints!
But 18 year olds are. Not being rude but what you think doesnt matter. Also 9 year olds are important as well. Im sure if a mum or dad says all the stuff they are doing is crap but the little kid loves it they will still come to the footy the next week. And lets be honest here why would you not come to the footy because of a little noise. Im pretty sure it annoying but it isnt a reason not to come to a game. As I said i hate it and it was also embarrassing but im not the future. If kids hate it then stop it, if they it it then keep it going.

What I and others collectively think does matter. Kids under the age of about 12 don't take themselves to the footy - they need someone to take them. It's that good old balance between keeping parents and kids both happy to a certain extent.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
The embarassing thing at Metricon the other week was in the third qtr. when the teams were warming up after half time, it was obvious that Jack Steven had been subbed on, right.
So the third qtr starts. I reckon it was about halfway through when the d**khead ground announcer tells us that the Saints have made a substitution and that Jack Steven is on! Farcical.
It's also annoying up here how they feel the need to 'explain' the game etc. MOST OF THE SUNS MEMEBERS ARE EXPAT FOOTBALL PEOPLE FROM OTHER STATES!
yea , thats it.
... feed the kids a diet of soft porn , soft violence and the dulcet tones
of Big Brother in their ears 24/7.
of course the kids like it ... they are sponges desiring information.
Pity the in-formation is a mirroring of their communities addictive madness.
... a generation ago , they were intrigued little gamers ,
today they are piloting drones.
Wake up to yourselves.ffs.
.name the ways , thought manipulates the State of Presence away.

I know you seem to think of yourself most of the time but there would be many kids who drag their parents along to the footy and the other thing is they are the future. I still doubt a parent would tell their kids we arent going to the footy this week because of the noise. Tell me it hasnt come to that. It was much better at Moorabbin when you stood in the rain and adults where swearing every second word. Yep the kids were much better off then. The good old days.
... its not 1984 anymore the world has changed and football has changed ... for the price of a footy ticket people expect to be entertained for the entire time they are at the footy not just when the game is being played...yes it may be a manufactured atmosphere but it sure as hell beats sitting in silence quietly waiting for the game to start again ... its a footy match not a library its going to be noisey if you dont like the noise then maybe step outside during the breaks ??

I was mortified to see the "make some noise" rubbish. In Qld we constantly bag them for doing that. But our supporters are so brain dead they have become as bad as the intersate silent crowds.

A game of footy these days isn't enough. Its the way it has evolved. You want something to keep kids entertained etc. How boring would it be if it just had a blank screen and no music or anything. How boring honestly.. Cant keep expecting it to be the same as pre 2000. We have more technology now and its part of the future.
We should have more pre game, more interactive pre games and half time. We need to really make going to the footy much much more then just a game...
At least we don't have fake crowd chanting coming over the PA. Earlier this year at the Souths vs Bulldogs game in the NRL the had that playing after someone yelled out over the PA "Lets go rabbitohs!"
And it could be worse. Souths had a sponsor for every playing position. I.e "Wearing the number x for *Insert sponsor* is *Insert player*

You can actually use the silence to talk to people.
That sure as hell beats laughing along like a retard with the canned laughter "entertainment' they try and impose on us.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
