We need to talk about ARmo
26/103 Games. Should be peaking.
I know he had a bad injury a few months back but wheres he at?
In my view hes a good honest warrior but far from elite. Not in the top 100 players in the comp.
If hes in our top 5 paid players weve got some serious structural list problems to address.

I think we need to talk about our supporter base and it's ability to rationalize.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
he was never going to be elite but he is a hard worker and asset to the team atm.
there's nothing really to discuss he's going well.

He's a good honest footballer… one our best few under 30 at the moment.
I thought his attack early was really good today, though we do seem a bit stodgy with Armo, Lenny, Ross, Weller & Dunstan going through the midfield.

my thoughts are more to what's up with Webster atm? where's he at? I think he could slot in nicely as an outside runner.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
You do realise that most players in the comp peak and are not elite.
What makes you think he is in the top five paid players at the club?
And if he is, who should currently be earning more?

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
Think Con is talking about Armo potentially being in the top 5 paid players of our list(correct me if I'm wrong Con) and that he this isn't a great sign of the 'quality' of our list...I think our list is a Work in progress Con and certainly lacking in younger top end talent...I think since returning to fitness after his knee gash, Armo has been very very good in the last month...his physicality and grunt is fantastic and he has lifted on the field and shown great leadership IMO...if he's seen as being I our top five payed, it is is what it is and I'm not too fussed...we'll get talent, we just need patience and some touch of luck at the draft/trade table.

He is a definite number 5 in a good quality 4 man midfield.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
Armo is a clearly in our best 22.
Only when he is not in our best 22 will the team be competitive.
We simply need a host of top quality players much better than him.
Most of the recruitment of the naughties was a failure except when we had the number one draft pick.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
Armo would be in any best 22. He's probably lost a little more in an average side where he gets more attention as one of the midfield prime movers. He plays hard footy and while his numbers weren't huge he was very good for most of the game.

Some harsh assessments here.
Armo' is not a very good fullback, therefore he is a disappointment.
Does anyone agree with that statement?

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
Armo is however..., a bloody good (and IMHO, still improving) in-and-under player who can also kick a goal, tackle furiously, never shirks an issue, and never bows his head when the going gets tough.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
he is our hardest Mid that isn't a run with player...
he is also one of our better ball users.... and knows where the goals are...
feel like his knockers haven't watched too much of his footy this year.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
He's a solid B-Grade player...
Comfortably in our starting 22, has several games a year where he looks like he's about to step into the A-Grade elite, several games a year where he does barely enough or gets beaten and doesn't look like more then GOP

Good honest footballer. No star and number 5 mid in a good side. Number 2 in our side. Dont understand the topic.

Re: We need to talk about ARmo
This. Armo's skills and decision making will unfortunately be b-grade but I think having a very interrupted season stopping his match fitness doesn't help that. When he gets some more talented players around him to feed the ball to, he'll show his worth as an in and under wrecking ball more. Maybe even with Lenny gone he will realise how much he needs to be the driver in the packs like he did at the start of the year when Lenny was out.gringo wrote:Armo would be in any best 22. Hard and honest mid. Gives us some much needed grunt while the youth are developing.
Happy with him.
