Three times out of five his kick-ins from a behind result in an opposition score. And he is simply too slow to compete against most AFL forwards. Absolutely no need for him in the side when we have Fisher, Gilbert and Dempster. We'd be much better off with Shenton providing run and defensive pressure.

Well to me Gwilt just got himself an extra year.

Gwilt did well up forward but I still don't see a spot for him in the future. He's had reasonable cameos in the forward line before but never worked as a regular target. He was paid little respect by the bulldogs defence and got some very good delivery. Would much rather see Bruce, Siposs, Lee, Markworth and White given time there rather than squeezing the last bit of life out of Gwilt's career.

He should play forward or not at all.

Good kick, will not get much of the ball however should be deep enough to impact the scoreboard.

Everything and anything he does will just never please some people.
Played forward for less than half the game. Kicked 3.1 could of easily had 5 (the shot he missed was a pretty easy shot it just faded late) and then in the last few minutes he could of easily been given a free for being held.
He had the most shots at goal for the team and got 20 touches(had some turnovers but who didn't)

You can say he wasn't paid respect or anything like that. But Bruce was there getting the same defenders Gwilt was getting and he didn't hit the scoreboard like Gwilt did.
Siposs and all the others would be given the same level of respect.

How about just saying he had a good game

And that shot from the boundary was pure class, not many on our list could do that
