If (and it is a mighty big if) he wants to come to the Saints, you would think it would cost us our first dp + something extra - at least.

trading with GWS is apparently not very easy.

Didn't we get Josh Bruce from them in the last trade period?

yes we did. i didn't they trade with nobody, but you truly cant compare Bruce with Cameron.

If we did a Bruce type trade for Cameron, I would be a very happy chappie

Hope we don't fork out too much other than our obvious first pick. Steven and slightly less, Armo are our only players of real value and they are too important for us going forward, especially Steven, considering Cameron has taken a step backwards this year.

Trade me to the saints or I'll go in to the draft can get good results on our behalf. Guess it will depend on how much he wants out, if at all.

A post from Brian_Speaking over at BF

"...Loving the passion here boys, as previously stated by my great self, Brayshaw is a vacuum, would be happy to have him in our team.
However, I've heard we won't be using our first pick in the draft, apparantley deal has been brokered already to bring a potential superstar player to our club.
Very, very exciting!!!..."

Pick one and nothing more for Cameron!
(In fact, I'd like to also see an upgrading or two of some of our later draft picks thrown in... and I reckon the Pelican is probably up for pulling that off too.)

Petracca has potential superstar written all over him... and we are in the box seat to trade for one of their big three forwards next year.

As good as it would be, until more than one random dude with no source nor any idea on how we will get him says it, il take it with a grain of salt and as a nice little talking point.

I imagine if he wants to come it will be a swap of our first round pick and if anything on top it will be a Gwilt, Siposs etc. A nominal extra that saves face for them. I he wants out they are better to trade for a very high pick. He did get them an upgrade as he was taken later than top 3 from memory.

I'm skeptical, I don't see how it can get done unless we give too much.

I know someone connected to the family, he would prefer to be in Melbourne...like a lot of footy players, missing them.

Agreed, though the fair price for a guy who's shown that much is pretty high. Interesting to see how this pans out!

His form this year has been mediocre.... And season ending injury. Could this make it 'slightly' easier?

I don't buy it. How do they know that Boyd is going to be any good or even Patton for that matter in the long run. Makes sense for them to keep them all on their list and trade later to get a good spread of ages on their list. 3 big forwards can work as Sydney has shown. Plus GWS is going to be a real premiership challenger in a few years - why wouldn't you want to be there? Players wanting to come home to mummy and daddy always worry me.

I don't get why we would give more than our first pick. If he's out of contract, surely he could just walk and we'd pick him up for our first pick anyway?

Can't see how he would "want to be a saints player" to be honest…

But I'd take him… 62 goals as 20 year old playing in a rubbish side… he goes alright

GWS won't trade him unless he threatens to walk, surely?

Gringo, he was a free hit for GWS taken as an underage pre-selection.

Thanks Drags, you would think that the 2 seconds to google that would have been easy wouldn't you. I'm a very lazy man, crowd sourcing my effort out. Maybe he's asked to be traded like plenty of others have. I think when Geelong picked up Caddy he pretty much demanded that he wanted out.

Whilst I don't normally get involved in this banter, I do have contact with one full time recruiter.

J.Cameron to Saints is a possibility if a reasonable agreement is made.

Make whatever you will of reasonable trade !!!!

We are not guaranteed to have THE first pick though.
