Fair enough. Let me observe that Peta has a bunch more coaching experience than Matt Finnis. Not sure what that could possibly mean though.Cairnsman wrote:No point...merely an observation Bergs.bergholt wrote:His role is much more senior than Peta's. Isn't that a bit different to your first assertion that Luke got a game because his old man was the recruiting officer?supersaints wrote:Don't think my memory is that bad. Battler as a player, but he always gave 100%, personally I'm glad to see him with us, was told that he loves the club.
Welcome back aboard!
Never heard that and would be very surprised.
We recruited Luke then , and I'm 99% sure that John suggested he was available From the Dogs, John did absolve himself from the panel selecting his own son. I'm sure thre was an article in the papers about it?

Re: Luke Beveridge - Director of Coaching
Does it really matter whether someone played for us or not, or whether they were the best player in their generation or whether they are male or female????
Surely whoever we think is the best person and fit for the each role is all that matters.
Look how the messiah turned out at essendope.

I wonder if Harvs was considered for this position? If not, why not?

Re: Luke Beveridge - Director of Coaching
This is a really good appointment IMHO
Luke has a great coaching record in the amo,s and in
His roles in the AFL, coached a couple of preseason so games for the hawks I believe and appointed himself extremely well. He is very highly regarded in the industry. I spoke to a coach in the system today who said he thought this was a sensational signing for the saints. Next target should be Blake Carracella from the cats who is seen as one of the best tacticians outside the head coaching ranks. Go get him saints.
