"...There is a real chance that prized midfielders Dylan Shiel and Jono O’Rourke as well as highly rated key position players Tom Boyd, Jon Patton, Kristian Jaksch, and Jeremy Cameron may find themselves at other clubs within the next two years.
Those 6 will do fine.
Offer them pick one plus TDL and Maisters jock strap. I am sure they will take it.

I'd trade Lee for Boyd and throw in Milera, Dunny and Sippa as a steak knives set.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

I think there is definite scope to do a melbourne Dom Barry like trade. Pick down grade, for a slightly more developed player, could work.

Re: Possible GWS unrest
As I have posted elsewhere, I think Jonathon Paton may be the easiet of the big forwards to get. If we gave pick one, I would want some change, either an additional player or a draft pick. As GWS has to cut their list this year, I d0nt think they will be wanting t use many picks. If we gave them pick 1/2, they woud already have pick 4, 19, and 23. I doubt if they would use any more than 3 picks, so they may be generous enough to hand over pick 23, or at least their 3rd and 4th round picks. Also I doubt hat they would be using their N.T. concession so their is another possibility. And could they trade out the GWS Academy boys? They have a couple of good ones there apparently.

How about Pick #1 (provided we get it) for Boyd and Jakshe.

Re: Possible GWS unrest
I have heard that there have been discussions around our first pick to GWS for one of the Big 3 forwards.
I know nothing more than that....probably stating the obvious really....but the discussions haven't been dismissed by GWS - so far...

Hi Barry, I still favour keeping our powder dry re big forwards till the 2015 drafting period.borderbarry wrote:As I have posted elsewhere, I think Jonathon Paton may be the easiet of the big forwards to get. This year I want Petracca! (He'll kick goals from the mid field and whilst resting on a flank, anyway.)
As mentioned in the article, the GWoganS big forwards will most likely become available in two years time. That gives us season 2015 to see how Rhys, Spenc-arrh and Tommy Lee (and Sippa?) are shaping up.
In other words, I reckon that at the end of next season (2015) we should have a much clearer idea of our needs in the big forward department. (And we will have salary cap space, and most likely still have early draft picks, so as to be able to do something about it.)
Thoughts...?

Hang on. Boyd was a number 1.
Now he's a number 1 with a year of experience at an afl club.
Yet in a supposedly poorer draft year we're hoping to get him AND the steak knives for pick 1?

boyd was a clear #1 last year, in a draft that after 1 year is looking very, very strong
seems like a horrible deal for them

Don't understand why we would entertain that.jonesy wrote:I reckon it would take pick 1 and Armo
You are saying Boyd is of equal or more value than Petracca and Armo combined. Doesn't compute.

Yeah and I'm reeeeaaaalllyy serious.
Boyd may come but at a very hefty price....this year anyway.

Has anyone followed if Boyd is living up to number 1 pick status so far?

Re: Possible GWS unrest
I guess they got guys like Boyd to stagger out there number one picks over several years. The also to Mc Carthy with their second pick and then have several swing men like Jaksche, Corr and Stewart. Getting Boyd might have upset Patts, Cameron etc. Maybe they are thinking to keep the more advanced forwards they might need to cash him in early.

Re: Possible GWS unrest
In a draft with no clear number one, we have little bargaining power to snare one of the big three from GWS, particularly when they have pick 3 or 4 coming their way.
Re: Possible GWS unrest
I'm not so sure there isn't a clear no#1. I think it's the discussion around KPPs that is muddying the waters or draft for needs with the knowledge that KPPs take longer to develop.
What would the criteria be for overall best player?
