Re: Beau announces retirement
Good luck to him. He always gave it a crack. You can't ask for more than that.

Re: Beau announces retirement
Did you see what that Chris Tilbey wrote. Seriously some supporters disgust me. I honestly hope he does never attend a game of ours. Dont know him but what one sad individual. Anyway well done Beau. No one could say you didnt give 100% every game apart from that moron on Twitter. Im sure they named that after him.

Re: Beau announces retirement
I loved the way Beau played. Pity those marks didn't stick. A really good, old fashioned, gutsy footballer.
Re: Beau announces retirement
Thank you Beau - you gave it your all, that's all anyone can expect from themselves.

Some people actually tweet stuff like that directly to players

Liked his big-hearted efforts. If others put in as much as him, we would be better for it.
Just not quite enough class for AFL, this time around. Thanks for coming over from WA and best wishes for your future Beau.

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.

Re: Beau announces retirement
Gave us a bit and did better than most of us internet warriors would ever dream of. And did it in the hangover of our great era. A thankless task, but...Thanks for being a part of the Saints!

Re: Beau announces retirement
Beau was drafted as that stop gap til we got some of the KPP we were desperatly short on ... asked to play as a gorilla backman and then as a pack crashing forward .. Beau gave 110% of himself but as mentioned unfortunatly he came to the club at the end of our dominance and found him self injured for long spells .. history will show he only played a smattering of games for us but he served an important role for us during his time with our club ... i reckon he would have been a beast in the 80's era of footy

Oddly, I had similar wonderings.kosifantutti wrote:Thanks for having a crack with the Saints Beau. Good luck with whatever is next in your life.

Marvellous medium, the web. All empowered to opine, merit or not, driven by good will, or not.
I tend to think those who might pot an honest soldier like Beau quite probably are a little too concerned with self reflection and, ultimately, loathing.
I reckon I might recall Beau more than Senor Tilbey when the dotage looms.
I do recall 1 Tilbey of note - Steve. At least he had some grounds to be arrogant, and lyricise about it.
As for Chris of the same handle?

Re: Beau announces retirement
He was a strange player Beau...
I think on talent, work rate n application he was def good enough to make it as a solid if unspectacular 3rd forward. For some reason this year, he developed marking yips and just could not shake them. It was a real shame just because he showed a real ability to get to the right spots and get out in front.
Further to that, i feel like our forward structure this season was best when Beau was in the team... IMO a very clever player. Able to work really well with Roo
Disappointed that it didn't work out for him, respected him a lot

Agree with your post, and particularly this part.skeptic wrote:

Beau was a very hard worker, who did all the team things.
Just a pity as you say that his marking went backwards, as did his once dead eye kicking.
Cheap pick up, taken as a back up. Serve his role ok.
Thanks Beau.
