KB's rant against the Saints.
Anyone hear this about 45 min ago?
He said we were unwise to let BJ, Dal and McEvoy go. Used the Bulldogs as an example of how to rebuild with youth around a core of experienced players.
Reeled off names of Bulldog older players as though we didn't have any.
What do you call Riewoldt, Hayes, Montagna, Gwilt, Fisher, Schneider etc..?
BJ left because we did not want to pay silly money.
We traded Ben and did well out of that. Ok we let Dal go but the Dogs let Brian Lake go as well.
KB really has selective memory and for a full time footy head, he really has no idea.
Don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant KB, you muppet.

I heard it .
I agreed with some of the stuff he was saying , but i thought the whole tone of the conversation was a bit of a st kilda bash .
wallace and the ox talking about stanley and geary being trade bait . After a positive day yesterday i was thinking we'd have a couple of weeks of good publicity .
I guess i was wrong

Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
He is the reason Richmond have been dismal for the last 25 years.
After they sacked him (because he simply couldn't coach) he boycotted the club until every last board member associated with that (correct) decision was gone.
He has white-anted his own club for three decades.
That is the sort of petty small minded idiot KB is.

Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
If BJ agreed to a 3 year contract, he would have stayed, but he wanted 4 years, at least from memory. There will always be critics regarding the clubs handling of BJ, and rightly so, but the club hasn't exactly done well out of long-term contracts either (eg, Hamill)
The Ben trade was a win-win for both clubs, probably us even more so.
As for Dal, time will tell...

The bit about the fourth year is what was reported and said on here but it has never been confirmed as a fact and I do not think anyone knows for sure.SydneySainter wrote:If BJ agreed to a 3 year contract, he would have stayed, but he wanted 4 years, at least from memory. There is almost no doubt we could have done things different and could be in a better spot right now. Maybe even have snuck into 8th this year who knows who cares. We are on a plan for real success not vanilla iced sponge. I'm on board the pelchan or bust ride. It's going to take 3-4 to see results and we are going to have to sit back and absorb a lot of fluff talk like this.

I didn't like the fact that we let BJ and Dal go , and i was 50/50 on macca . but i also don't believe that bj was deserving of the money he wanted especially after the average 2011 and 2012 season's he had . I would have been happy for the club to give him a four year deal though .
I was unhappy we let Dal go , I think he is capable of playing at least four more year for north .
Macca has allot of good qualities but is very average at center bounces , we did well with his trade . Hickey stepped up till injury's got him but then Longer has come in gaining invaluable experience .

Strange that he used the Dogs as an example. How well are they going at the moment?
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.
Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
No it wasn't. Like most? Of us I was sad to see him go but we just have to move on. Our path was largely set after the lost draft years, we just didn't have the players to have a minimalist rebuild, we had to go the whole hog, that takes time and is horribly painful. None of our older players are going to be playing by the time we're any sort of threat again, if we have to move some players on to hasten the rebuild, so be it (unfortunately).sainters85 wrote:Letting Dal go was a massive lost

Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
Yep, let's trade one of the few quality players in the 22-26 year age bracket that we have. How about keeping the quality players that we have put 5 years into and just go to the draft and recruit the best young talent in the country.one point wrote:There will be more traded. The only question is who has the currency for a good deal. Perhaps Jack Steven for the right trade

Why is this bitter old man still working in the media? He is the AFL's answer to Mr. Burns. Perhaps people need to turn off their radios when he's on the air, so he loses ratings?

Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
KB is a f****** moron.
He has less marbles rolling around upstairs than Kevin Sheedy. And thats saying something.
That silly old fart is responsible for the way the game has declined over the past decade.
Used the rules committee as his own vehicle to "save the game"...
Asshat of the highest order. Playing 600 games doesn't stop you being stupid.

Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
Was this live or pre recorded??? Why would he go on like that, did he not see the game yesterday.
I had to keep checking the date on this thread to see if I'd missed something.
What a fool
A bit like Lloyd writing about our 12th loss in a row. Whoops

Re: KB's rant againts the Saints.
In return for the three we have picked up Hickey, Delaney, Dunstan, Acres and Savage. I rest my case. An idiotic statement by KB, considering the Richmond list is as good as it is going to get and probably further away from a Premiership window than we are.
