Doesn't have much left in the tank. Wouldn't be surprised if he hung them up at the end of the year.

slow
his numbers are the worst of his career
injury prone
we are rebuilding and don't need any more 30 year olds
enough?
Re: Luke Ball
Mmm, maybe, I liked the role Dan Cross has at Melb and Bwll would be as valuable off field at training as he would on game day. As we will struggle to pay the cap next year might be better paying him as a playing coach then a coach as we have to pay players and seems to be struggling in the off field department.
Just a thought

Re: Luke Ball
Richo has virtually said where going to draft kids and it will take time .
So we'll be having the same conversation this time next year about some other 30 yr old !

Nope. We don't need another player who can't spread. Would consider him as a coach cos he does have in and under smarts.

Re: Luke Ball
Not welcome back in my book.
May be harsh but he had a3 year deal on table and walked to scum and wins a flag against us.
Should have worked hard to regain respect of coach and earn spot back in team.

He owed our club BIG TIME!
He spat in our face, and then stuck up the middle finger to the rest of his team mates
And supporters, by going straight to the filth.
Wouldn't help facilitate a trade. Selfish bastard!
He cost us the 2010 flag.
He can go and get stuffed the see you next Tuesday treacherous prick.
If only we would have taken Judd instead of him, we'd be talking about a dominant
Saints era, better than Geelongs.
End of rant!

As much as I think RL is a great coach i think he had a fair bit to do with ball going so this completely harsh. Dont want him because of his age but not because he left. Were you alive when big carl left and then came back? he left us for one thing and thats money.

I'd love to see Dal Santo back at the club one day but Luke Bail - never.

Re: Luke Ball
Wasn't he part of that group of players like Roo, BJ, Dal etc that made a pact to stick together to win a flag. I always wondered how true that pact was, and if in fact it was true at all.tweedaletomanning wrote:This!falka wrote:Not welcome back in my book.

If it was true I wondered how things went down with those players after Bally took off to the Pies.
He took a fair bit of IP with him also which wasn't ideal in terms of where we were on the premiership clock.
Re: Luke Ball
probably true.....but we thught we would get both of them...tweedaletomanning wrote:This!falka wrote:Not welcome back in my book.

Re: Luke Ball
All those who wouldn't have Luke Ball back would no doubt lay out the red carpet for Lyon?
Wouldn't want Luke back because 30+ year olds are not what we need. but to reject him on character grounds??

Re: Luke Ball
collingwood dont let players go unless they are cooked ... if Luke is released by collingwood then he will be cooked and will retire ....
that said Luke spilt as much blood and gave sweat and tears for our club as any player in our history ... he left the club in a way that was not good for us but he still gave his all for our club for a long long period ... i know I and i would imagine the club itself would welcome Luke back to the club with open arms if he ever wanted to return to the saints family (not as a player as that ship has sailed)

Re: Luke Ball
WHY just why are we talking about this? REALLY? do we learn NOTHING? Look, everyone has a right to post an opinion, but this OP is one that I think is a wee bit misguided. (IMHO)
