Wasn't a great comment considering his playing career!

One of our directors, to my face, at a business function unrelated to the Saints.

SW was a dud. Wonder which WAFL club he joins next year?

And BJ had no time for Watters. Disliked him. Rated him so low that it was as much of a factor as anything else in leaving. He also didn't like the contract length we were willing to offer him (3 years max) but SW was a factor.

My source for that one? BJ.
sounds about right....scotty might not have wanted the players to leave...others had other ideas....

Mac was not up to standard so regardless of any 'leadership', he was not worth the time and effort.

Now languishing in the Hawthorn 2s...???

Yes indeed. Picked for Box Hill whilst Ceglar, a 10 game guy off the rookie list, gets a senior game in front of big Mac.

Coming back from injury. No different to Hickey. Both kicking the dew. There different reasons players play vfl. Think you will find Big Boy will be back soon.

4th game in a row at Box Hill? How long does it take?

Didn't realise he's been injured. Thanks.

Furthermore (probably in light of Daw's recent arrest), who controlled Milne not being available to play?

He still looks underdone. That turf toe thing for ruckman must stuff them up for a while. Maybe he'll get a gig in 3 weeks.

staggeringly in contrast to the prevailing "rumor & opinion" of how much of hack Watters was
the RUMOR was the playing group was angry that watters picked Milne in the side

oops my bad - think that might have been Saad

I was told some stuff in confidence by a friend who's brother is a very big sponsor of the club and in one of the coteries and sits with the big boys of the club. What I heard made me think he was a bit odd and made his position difficult. I also think he did the right thing in playing kids though and should be seen as having helped build our list quicker.

Like a director is going to say

"Yeah on reflection, he was fantastic, we shouldn't of let him go"

They are paying him out for 12 months, they need us to think he was crap, regardless if he was or not

The same BJ whose manager was out sniffing around other clubs way before Watters barely started the job?

Like many supporters, I was impressed with the way that Scott Watters conducted himself in his first season, and felt reasonably optimistic about the future with him as senior coach. Naturally, not being in the "know" I now realise that there's much more to being a good coach than what we see in the media. I have no animosity toward Mr. Watters , why should I? If things were as bad as the rumour mill would have us believe, then the club are to be commended for acting quickly to change coaches. I wish him nothing but the best of luck.

You should either be bitter towards Twatters who clearly was a wad at our club or those that recruited him in the first place, or both IMO.

Something clealry was rotten.

SCOTT Watters has revealed it wasn't his decision to part with key players Nick Dal Santo, Brendon Goddard and Ben McEvoy during his time as St Kilda coach...
Well, he knew that when he went there, that is, he would be a lackey of Pelchin, if he had been paying attention as to the catalyst as to why Ross Lyon left anyway. I really can't understand why so many on this Board are taken with Pelchin. He is such a complete dud I would have thought it was obvious. In any event, until and unless the coach becomes the person who makes football decisions (after advice) we will be on the bottom.

In the end he was neurotic, no doubt, this club can do it to you

I'm not really interested if said director was one of Thompson or Bourke.

There is more to this, but we will likely never know

Can you please name all the AFL clubs where the coach has the final say?

I think SW failed in 2 key areas:

One was despite doing the right thing by the list (largely), he failed to sell his message across to the board/fans etc there was something really irratic about his style in that sense hence many fans weren't too bothered by his sacking despite his list management actually being ok.

Two... in a story that is forever developing, it's clear he didn't work well with others

McEvoy not in the best players today for Box Hill. There other young ruckman Luke Lowden kicked 4 goals and got best on ground.

Thompson is a cancer of this club and like Burke, needs to leave after the mess that is presently at hand
