Nothing is the short answer. Trading the likes of Steven, Armo or Monty would be idiotic given the state and average age of our list. Apart from the young ones we want and need there's no one any other club would want for more than a set of steak knives. Picks 1 and 19 or 2/20..whatever...will be nice enough for me.
I'm still hopeful Markworth and White will add to Billings, Dunstan, Acres, Newnes, Templeton, Saunders, Minchington and co. It's going to take time but can't see us getting extra value from the draft by trading anyone...hopefully our later pick(s) will work out...a bit like I hope Sipposs will.
what do we have of trade value?

Re: what do we have of trade value?
If we want extra first round picks there is only one way we will get them without trading armo or steven.
I have a hunch that we will trade pick 1.
We should get a top 10 (if not top 5) and top 20 this year and the trading partner should also give us their first rounder for next year.
Look at the NFL. 3 years ago the Rams had pick 2, the Redskins pick 6 or so. They traded 3 first rounders to move up to pick 2. One of those picks ended up being pick 2 this year. The Rams are laughing and have a great side, pity about their QB.
Hopefully a club with a top 5 pick becomes besotted with a certain player and will be happy to trade up to number 1 to ensure they get him.

Can you do that under AFL rules?periosaint wrote:If we want extra first round picks there is only one way we will get them without trading armo or steven.

I agree that we would swap pick 1 for two top 10 picks this year given the evenness of the draft but not sure if/how it is possible even if over two years?
But I think we need to do something a little funky/aggressive.
If we just do nothing and hope that pick 1& 19 are good I dont think that will be enough for us.
We need to find another 5-6 very good players in the next 2-3 years to climb the ladder.
