Are we allowed to trade future father son picks? Surely Lenny and Roo''s offspring would be worth something?

Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

Surely the trading jack Steven conversation is a joke..........seriously...?
He is a great player and one of the best midfielders in the comp.....maybe dogs should trade Griffen he has dropped off this year. Seriously......seriously....?
I am just unsure of some peoples true football knowledge on this site.

I think we keep Jack for sure.

So for me:

pick 1 - best available
pick 19 - best available
(pick 20-priority - unlikely - but small chance)
Gilbo + pick 38 for lions pick 21

Gets us 1, 19, 20, 21
+
Pre-season draft pick 1 - pay overs for someone good.

I reckon it's more than likely we will get a priority pick. Two successive years of poor performances. How many wins last year? 5?

We are on track.

Sam Gilbert would be one of the only ones that has had trade value but he has played so little and now appears injury prone. I'd keep him he is worth more to us than a trade below pick # 30.

Jack S would almost be untradable because we would want way overs like a proven mid. Something like Shiel plus a top 20 pick, so in effect untradable.

Armo?? If Lenny goes, absolutely not.

Monty - he would only appeal to top 8 teams and they wouldn't be prepared to give us their 1st round pick.

So we don't really have much

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Hope so... I think it is on the cards... especially if our % stays down at 50 odd.

Would we get pick 2 or pick 20 as a priority pick?
Just trying to remember what Melbourne got ?

Think we get a 1st pick of the second round, so 1, 19 and 20. If were on the bottom after 2 years it would be a 1st rounder, 1, 2 and 19.
That is if the AFL thinks we need one, I remember Melbourne missing out one year but I can't remember the circumstances.

I haven't seen anything special from Patton. He looks slow and cumbersome. What am I missing?

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Dont think we are even a slight chance based on the demons not getting one. Maybe next year though.

What were the old rules? 2 successive years with less than 4 wins?

I can't see us getting anything this year, another year like this and we might though. We may struggle for a win next year, GWS & Melbourne are much better than when we played them earlier in the year.

Yeah melb is precedent. But surely we ask to create some pressure the following year.

I think if Lenny goes again, Armo would be very much on the trade table if as previously mentioned 'the price was right'. And that's a big 'if'.

I would slot 'Armo' into that Brisbane trade scenario if Lenny goes again, depending on who Brisbane would want, and they may even want both and give us their first round draft pick! Unlikely though, but possible.

Armo loves the Saints so much he is playing himself out of trade contention!

He's like "ill just play crap this year so the club doesn't get offered a top 20 pick for me.'

True Sainter! Doesnt want to leave us and proving it on field!

I know he's been slacking off in hospital. He's no man that's for sure. Nathan Burke would have barbecued his knee flap and eaten it then used his helmet in its place. Soft that Armo.

Was tongue in cheek! Sheesh!
Was going to add hes so tough he injured himself to rule himself out of a trade.

Just making the point in a light hearted way that I don't think Armo will be going anywhere.

If we get a priority pick and then lure someone with $$ in the psd - then we may not need to trade at all.

I cant possibly see why we would get a priority pick.

Now Saintas, lets get off the bottom of that ladder... Carlscum this week is a great opportunity.
(Their salary cap is still weighed down with Gibbs, Daisy, Krieuser, Yarran, and the aging Judd. They are going nowhere..., they just haven't realised that yet. )

Some shrewd and nasty trading ahead maybe! Great to have Pick one in the PSD. Can be used to get someone with a cheaper draft pick, by having a uncontracted player refuse to sign and taker him at Pick one in the PSD. Players that come to mind that have yet to sign include Tom Clurey at Pt. Adelaide, several at GWS including Jonathon O'Rourke, Simpson at WCE.

Gilbert is an interesting one - perhaps with GC as they are pushing finals and he provides versatility and experience for the group . Perhaps there is a young player currently sitting 24 on their list we can swap for and perhaps trade their pick 2 for our pick 3 which won't be too far apart
