Watching the skills of Hayes puts it all in perspective...when we up there much of the side shared those skills.

It's standard when we play any side from WA. Home or away. Last years game at Jihad aginst the Eagles was even worse.Grimfang wrote:Are the umpires under the same scrutiny re: match fixing as the players? Having even one of the tbree central umpires in your pocket would makeit easy to rig a match.

Spot on. Can anyone give us a report on how he went for Sandy today. Only joking. Longer is going to be a star when we next contend. Hickey may be better. Pierce looks like he could make it, and the Yank is going ok. Pick one could land us a half decent one in Peter Wright who can also kick a goal. Throw in Stanley and we could end up with some reasonable trade bait in the next few years. The Fireman wrote:we finally have a decent Ruckman

that once again took 0 marks for the game. The Fireman wrote:we finally have a decent Ruckman
most be some sort of record for number of markless games for a ruckman.

I think we might have a developing ruckman - but it is also a developing everything ....
This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.

I dont understand how the frees can be 18-9 in a reasonably close game.
Question has to be asked what is achieved by playing Gwilty, Jones and Ray for much longer.
All genuine bona fide list cloggers now.

Your negativity is noted but doesn't take away from his rucking which was very good.Sobraz wrote:that once again took 0 marks for the game. The Fireman wrote:we finally have a decent Ruckman

Longer has to have another string to his bow. Look at Ceglar for the Hawks yesterday. 6 marks around the ground and 1 goal. Longer has to learn to get back and take that mark in the back line or contribute elsewhere. The Fireman wrote:Your negativity is noted but doesn't take away from his rucking which was very good.Sobraz wrote:that once again took 0 marks for the game. The Fireman wrote:we finally have a decent Ruckman

As ex-president Peter Summers said:

St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

I think the umpire called it because he thought the west coast player was about to run him down but missed the tackle- had to play something once he blew the whistle.

I feel pretty sure umpire 12 gave 3 free kicks inside 50m which resulted in goals for the wc teamGrimfang wrote:Are the umpires under the same scrutiny re: match fixing as the players? Having even one of the tbree central umpires in your pocket would makeit easy to rig a match.

Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
Re: Saints v Wet Toast - Match Thread
Longer is developing.
I like his attempted physicality... He has a dip. He will gain strength and endurance after another pre season or two.
He does not take any at he's at AFL level... Confidence? But at VFL level he takes pack grabs, so he can mark. We just have yet to see him
Also when judging a Ruckman... Look at how his opponent played
Nick Nat... AA Ruckman (somehow?) 12 touches and 1 mark.... Probably broke even
