Wet Toast were better because...
Hardened midfielders Rosa, Priddis, and La Cross compared with ours were smarter and harder.
Darling and JK were monsters - ours weren't.
Our defence ( I mean our boys "down back") we're honest and try hard but aren't ready to gel and die for the cause yet.
Jimmy is average in the ones these days.
Billow, Lee and our under 40 gamers had a great step forward today, but the 1%'s aren't yet understood by all to employ victory from the jaws of defeat.
Any typos or lack of logic are blamed on 8 pots at the Canadian bay as the lone sainter in a new neighbourhood!

Umpiring and a few bounces helped.

The umpiring was disgraceful.
Wet Toast were allowed to get away with everything and we got pinned for anything.

They had double the free kicks we had, and the timing of a lot of them helped turn the match. I believe that Priddis needs to be looked at for at least one dive that I saw.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

WCE were better because we have no defensive game- especially our midfield who refuse to play close to their opponents.. they also had ruck options that ran Longer into the ground (Longer tried his guts out).

We had Jones Hayes Armo and Ray in the midfield.MrCordz wrote:Hardened midfielders Rosa, Priddis, and La Cross compared with ours were smarter and harder.

So I dont think we can use experience as an excuse.
As you say - they were much smarter with their ball use and decision making.
In the end I think thats what costs us most weeks.
Too many of our guys either cant kick or make poor decisions with their kicks..

Re: Wet Toast were better because...
Just when we get momentum up, either Ray or Jones regularly turn over the ball and stuff it all up, Armo needs to stop trying to take on the opposition, and should just be more effective and quick with his disposals. Need genuine pace in the midfield..Steven is not his old self, and I just wonder if AR is not allowing him to play his natural game?Con Gorozidis wrote:We had Jones Hayes Armo and Ray in the midfield.MrCordz wrote:Hardened midfielders Rosa, Priddis, and La Cross compared with ours were smarter and harder.

Re: Wet Toast were better because...
There were at least two occasions in the third quarter when I KNEW we should have had frees when the opposite happened - they resulted in goals against us. So I have no faith in umpires and am losing faith in the game. If I wanted to watch basketball/soccer I would watch both.
In fact the world cup is on!

Re: Wet Toast were better because...
I should explain further - punching a ball out of someone's grasp is a skill we all learnt from primary school. It is shameful we have changed this in our game - reducing the impact to basketball standards - but maybe smart and quick short guys maybe able to be successful in twenty years - who knows.
Soccer actually has this worked out.
But if a guy punches a ball away and is not going for a mark - or it seems so - they get penalised.
It is turning into a game noone can explain to anyone from overseas.
Not to say that used to be easy.
And we are s*** anyway ......................
