Rhys Stanley - 50 games
Is there a worse player to have played 50 games for StKFC.
The only one I can think of is Darryl Cowie - 56mt between 1982-5. At least he wasnt scared!

Re: Rhys Stanley - 50 games
Not a potential 200 gamer.
Will end up back in the SANFL playing for West Adelaide.
He was born in Berri, appropriate, given that he is the apple of his mum's eye;
the club thought he was just peachy when they used pick 47 in 2008;
some of us think he's a fruitcake although the club still believes he will blossom.
LOL (languishing on list)

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

He's not playing today unless there has been a late change.
Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Great thread. No wonder players arent allowed to read the crap written on here.
Re: Rhys Stanley - 50 games
Good positive thread - well done.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Seeing it's 3 months since your last rant I checked whether this stupid comment was an aberration. Sadly you are consistent - bordering on pathetic.On the Ball wrote:Is there a worse player to have played 50 games for StKFC.

Crawl under a rock and don't come back for another 3 months.

Don't use my username in vain!
But, yes, Daryl Cowie was the worst player to ever play 50 games for us.
Although he was one hel of a professional glassblower outside footy!

Re: Rhys Stanley - 50 games
Good thread. What about Tim Elliott? He was a megahack who showed nothing. Stanley has had potential at least at times.

49 games and 28 goals out of draft pick 47 - i reckon we've done alright here.

Re: Rhys Stanley - 50 games
IMHO Rhys is a leaping ruckman with pace, agility and an elite lield kick that the club has tried to make a forward, a back and then a forward again.
Would be nice if they actually tried to make him a ruckman!
Rate him higher than Hickey, Longer and the others.
Has the agility to run end to end.
Can clunk a mark.
Can pinpoint pass 40+ metres.
Needs coaching on where to run to be dangerous.

Re: Rhys Stanley - 50 games
Think Rhys is probably going to struggle as a forward at AFL level - I too would like to see hime perhaps have a crack as our no 1. ruckman for a whole game next week against Richmond. Longer has toiled manfully for what, 6 weeks or so now and is well deserving of a rest. I'm not too fussed if this doesn't happen, but an experiment to see if Stanley has the tank and physicality to play as a standalone ruckman is possibly at least worth trying...I reckon Port Adelaide will be interested in him at years end.
Re: Rhys Stanley - 50 games
Hickey practically did more in round 2 than Stanley has done for the whole year.BackFromUSA wrote: Rate him higher than Hickey, Longer and the others.
I'm not sure how you could rate him higher than the others above.
You can have the skills, you can have the pace - but if you don't have the intent, you're never going to amount to anything.
