Our problem isnt forwards even though we cant score. Its getting it down to them quick enough so they are at least close to one on one. We lack run and spread through the middle. That isnt going to be fixed in the near future.

In: Attacking the ball and playing a positive game style that means we actually kick some goals
Out: A game style where you flood numbers back and just wait for the opposition to keep pumping the ball in.

Dont know why Gwilt did not get a game today. Could not have done worse than Dempster. He had a poor one. Needs handball lessons.

Re: changes for next week
Probably not, but he does need a rev. We still need his marking power, but he gives away easy goals too often.
Re: changes for next week
Our transitional play from defence to offence is our major weakness and the source of many of our problems. If we could get Fisher, Wright, Gilbert and Roberton back into the line up, we'd look a lot better.
I wish Savage offered us something. We are ravaged with injury and here is a player who is supposedly decent who cannot get a game.

They play VFL footy because 2 out of the 3 werent good enough in the AFL. Hopefully Munro will be especially if we draft him.

This, and if we do not start attacking/creating we will not last in the AFL
Re: changes for next week
And our players seem to be a bit off the pace ATM too?
Don't you reckon?
But it was TIC
However
2 of those players are better than 20 players on our list.... Munro is not, but getting better.
The reason they are not on a list is they fully developed to their current level. They won't improve. There is a hope the young AFL players might.
Eg
Cockie is a far better player than
Markworth, Minchington, Murdoch, Saunders, Siposs, Acres
Equal of
Jones, Curran, Ross, Dunnell, Milera, Roberton, Dunstan
Just below
Ray, Armitage, Gwilt, Weller
Well below
Steven, Hayes, Montagna, Dempster
He's not on our list though because we have some better inside mids.... And we have some still improving.
Right now, not sure you've seen him play... He'd make the side better in the short term, than say Billings... But would be of little help long term

Interesting but I dont see what that has to do with the saints. They cant play because they arent our players. Im sure there are many in the VFL that are better than young kids getting a gme for us at the moment. Who cares though. They cant play.

Re: changes for next week
Simpkin may get suspended for his hit on Taylor. Billings and Dunstan look fatigued and need a rest. Lee obviously didn't impress his coach, so he'll probably be at Sandy next week.
So, for me it's....
Out: Simpkin Billings Dunstan lee
In: Stanley, Gwilt, Curren, Roberton
Saunders had a stinker, but I'm happy for him to have another go at it next week. Jones may survive due to lack of midfield run

I thought Stanley was no good at sandy. Not sure about the others. Think Simpkin will be ok. Just turned his body to get the ball first.
Re: changes for next week
Longer went off injured toward the end, possible concussion.
If he goes out, we may see a new ruckman debut. Or the more conservative (and likely) approach will be Stanley for Longer and Maister/Siposs for Lee.
I'm assuming that Lee is a certainty to be dropped after he was subbed at half time.

Isn't it funny how people were howling down the taking on of two ruck's traded in for high picks and now we could be left with both injured and Holme-boi to debut?FQF wrote:Longer went off injured toward the end, possible concussion.

That being stated, it displays that kids get injured frequently and hence why our side will probably continue to be a bit of a turnstile for the next couple of years.
