In just over a quarter he had 7 touches and 2 goal assists.
He keeps playing for mine unless sore.
Just looks lethargic to me. We all know he has played limited game time in previous seasons.plugger66 wrote:
I think Billings has played 5 quarters in 3 weeks.
A couple of instances last week, he didnt chase, looked a bit flat at a couple of contests...

Well Jones has been omitted, one wonders if he has now played his last game.
Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Great selections. It's about time game day performance had an influence on whether you're in the team or not
Re: Round 13 Team Changes
Seems likely. One game, subbed off and then dropped is not a good sign.stinger wrote:probably....dunny too, one would hope.....3rd generation saint wrote:Well Jones has been omitted, one wonders if he has now played his last game.

Even as a critic of Clint's, I would hope at the very least he would get a farewell game - he certainly deserves that, unfortunately our last 3 games are away, maybe the tigers at the G in 22 would be okay though, 23 in Adelaide is no good.3rd generation saint wrote:Well Jones has been omitted, one wonders if he has now played his last game.

For a passenger that has hopped on the back of others good work to receive a farewell game?
if he does, I will rightly fly on down and boo him for wasting my Membership money considering that lack of talent, sub-intellectual player with foot skills of a 10 year old schoolgirl has never actually played well or been useful at all.
He tagged well in 2009. Wow. Much like Jono Brown in 2001...anyone could have played the role he did.

Re: Round 13 Team Changes
Classy. He's one of the hardest working players in the AFL. He might not have the talent but he has been a tireless worker. Anyone that bags him should be ashamed. He should be admired for getting every last ounce out of himself. We would be a gun team if the whole team worked that hard. The Redeemer wrote:Are you serious?dragit wrote:Even as a critic of Clint's, I would hope at the very least he would get a farewell game - he certainly deserves that, unfortunately our last 3 games are away, maybe the tigers at the G in 22 would be okay though, 23 in Adelaide is no good.3rd generation saint wrote:Well Jones has been omitted, one wonders if he has now played his last game.

Then chimes in with a comparison to "Jono Brown" which doesn't make sense.

Farewell games are the biggest load of rubbish. Last years joke was a complete and utter waste of game time that could have been put into someone with a future with the club.dragit wrote:Even as a critic of Clint's, I would hope at the very least he would get a farewell game - he certainly deserves that, unfortunately our last 3 games are away, maybe the tigers at the G in 22 would be okay though, 23 in Adelaide is no good.3rd generation saint wrote:Well Jones has been omitted, one wonders if he has now played his last game.
If it makes you feel good, good for you! I'd rather see the club move on and develop the new generation who will play in our next premiership. I hope he played his farewell game last week.

I will guarantee Lenny will not have a farewell game, when he's finished he will call it just like the Weagles captain did, with class, not limping out like many others.SainterK wrote:Lol Bernie, nobody can accuse you of sentiment in football

I thought last year was great and created a sense of reason for those players leaving and helped the next generation see what loyalty and club means beyond they pay packet. Those are the cultural things you can stage manage. 1 game won't make Billings a better player in 2 years but it might make him feel bonded to the club and see it as more than a work place.
It would be a missed opportunity to me. Those guys that see Clint bust his nut every game and get booed are not going to see the point in putting in the extra work when they get caned anyway. Reward the guys good qualities and it says what the team values are. Stewie Leowe handing over the jumper to Kosi was another great initiative that I still remember.

Re: Round 13 Team Changes
Maybe Redeemer can take some of his own advice..
Jones has never been a champion, is on his last legs but he's been a great servant of the club and has always given his all. He has our respect.

That's no way to talk about a good servant of the club who has given it everything. One of the nastier comments I have read on here. Ordinary effort Redeemer. Show a bit of class. The Redeemer wrote: For a passenger that has hopped on the back of others good work to receive a farewell game?

Re: Round 13 Team Changes
Well I don't think much of Jones as a footballer. He's not up to AFL level and if he deserves another game then so be it. Personally we need to get another one in who has decent foot skills.

Re: Round 13 Team Changes
really glad to see Armo back in (obviously) last time we were playing well was with Armo (and Hickey) in the team.
the inclusion of Webster and the exclusion of Jones should help with our disposal efficiency woes.
