Armitage in for Dunnel,
Will they let us bring in two and only drop one?
Dunnel is the obvious out, Jones just brings no value to the club now, which is a pity because he has played his heart out for the club, but just hasn't got the skills, in fact would be the worst in the league for disposal quality.
Simpkin went hard, just didn't get the ball, maybe not quite quick enough to play the hard man in the forward line, plus may be in trouble with MRP with that little arm he threw at the Port player in the last quarter.
I don't think he should get anything, but they will probably see differently.
At least they played the game out this week and managed to kick 4 goals in the last quarter this week and save us from a 100 point belting.
But we have to start finding new avenues to goal, Roo isn't going to be there for to much longer, and if we can find somebody else who we can kick it to, then maybe he can last an extra season.
Right now, Lee and Stanley are our best two other options up forward to kick the ball too, as long as they actually stay forward and give the opposition defence someone to pick up and not just accept our long kicks forward with an easy chest mark because we have 17 players on the defensive side of the centre of the ground playing school boy football.
We also need a small forward to be at these players feet to grab any lose balls that come from spilt marks.
Actually, if Milney gets a favourable decision in his court case, I would recruit him as a specialist small forward coach.

Following on from the many comments about umpiring decisions the AFL needs to step up their spending to really big bucks to scrutinize where on the field, when in the context of the game, and which way frees and marks are paid or not paid. We need to know that this happens as the influence of gambling in sport continues to grow.

Not sure why people suggest that because a player was very good at something... He can automatically coach that skill into people?

Milney had an innate skill almost impossible skill to teach, it required split second timing, game sense and ability to read the ball off hand quicker than a defender!

furthermore he has to able to communicate it well?!

It's a bit like think all our fwds will be tough guys now Hamill is coaching them.far from the reality , just like Hardwick's team plays like a bunch of pansies but I don't think he did?

It's a misnomer to believe a coach can/will or does I still his own traits on players... He advances and utilises a players natural attribute and character traits into a game plan.

I was at the game tonight and I reckon he was OK. I have been critical of him this year but I reckon he was one of our better players tonight. Actually tried to run and spread and compete.

And anyone who thinks Longer is better than Hickey is living in a different reality. Longer got smashed in ruck contests and out positioned in marking contests all night.

Bilings skills are sublime, but is easily pushed out of contests. Dunstan was good. Hard to get excited by Dunnell and Simpkin. Dempster's worst game for quite some time. Shenton was serviceable.

Couldn't believe some of the umpiring _ and I rarely bag umpires having been an umpire myself for a couple of years once upon a time.

Not sure why Dumpster felt the need to fly for every mark he could. I thought backmen were meant to punch the ball occasionally.
