Re: Administration Forum Rules
We do monitor not only new members but all suspicious member posting.
As per the rules we have some flexibility in implementing the rules in regards to multiple identities when it comes to timing and we don't have to implement the rule at the time of formation of the nic.
We know that this is a multiple identity.
We know why it was created.
We know when it was created.
We know how it was created.
We know what post specifically led to the creation of this nic.
We know it is using a German I.P. address.
We know it is one of three possible posters.
They are playing a dangerous game with their identity on Saintsational.
Good luck to them.

Re: Administration Forum Rules
I am quite sincere ... Dangerous game ... Will need luck to avoid angst ... We know a lot ... But want to be 100% sure before any move. Taking the ASADA approach. No need for a bounty. We have it covered. Of course that poster might be smart enough to delete the profile before he gets banned as outlined in the rules. Very tempting ... Of course!

where's the notation under 'user statistics' gone
that states how many warnings you've had ?
hmmmmmmmm.
... isnt that a bit sneaky ,
changing things without notification / discussion.

of using my skills as cunning linguist to describe an action
... coz that was my intent .%100
(whether fact can be determined as abuse ... is another discussion
but i'll cop this one ... seems fair enough)

None of us know where that statistic has gone. It may have disappeared as a setting during the forum software upgrade but the total number of warnings issued is irrelevant anyway as the only relevant statistic is the number now warnings received in any one week. I don't think it is necessary to fiddle with the forum Software to regain that meaningless statistic.
As for your ability to be a "cunning linguist" and attempts to "skin a cat" - I had added this to a file that is now being kept so that we comply with the Victorian Cyber Bullying Laws. As a social media site we must report cases of cyber bullying, so I caution use of this site to make threats of any kind - no matter how cunning you think you are being. Don't out-smart yourself please.

What a load of one sided biased corrupt and smelly shyte. BFUSA and his silent majority will argue that it is ok to abuse a 3rd party but are lightening quick to issue a warning for something that doesn't even come close to abuse in most peoples eyes.BackFromUSA wrote:POQPrinciple of Q'uo wrote:where's the notation under 'user statistics' gone

Re: Administration Forum Rules
Please read the following very carefully so you fully understand the law:
From The Age website:
http://m.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/jos ... zrx5q.html
Sue Maclean from Cyber Safety Solutions offered SEN listeners some salient advice for if they are confronted by vicious online attacks.
“Block the person on whatever site it is.
“Make sure you report the comments, the picture, the posts – legitimate (outlets) such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter have reporting mechanisms.
“When it’s at the extreme end … when it becomes cyber bullying, so it's incessant, ongoing or it's derogatory, [or] breaches our anti-discrimination laws, you must report it to the police.
“We must get some runs on the board when it comes to some convictions to send the message out there that this is not acceptable and it is criminal.”

Obviously I do need to defend myself here as Cainsman has posted yet ANOTHER inaccurate portrayal of me.
1) I do NOT think personally that it is ok to abuse a 3rd party
2) 3rd party abuse had never been specifically addressed in the rules
3) we asked the community how we should deal with this in a thread that was open for over week
4) the forum responded and we acted as the community wished
5) the outcome was summarized and published
6) the outcome does not reflect my personal opinion at all
7) however we shall moderate to the rules that the community expects
8) we are prepared to have anyone re-open the discussion on 3rd party abuse now or in the future
And as far as i am aware that telling someone to stick it up your a*** is an abusive term - not dissimilar to f u and other such classic abuse.
Warning was warranted.

Come off it POQ. With respect, this is crap. Anyone who tells anyone else in our culture to stick something where the sun don't shine only means one thing.
Re: Administration Forum Rules
Arent we taking these forums way to seriously. Surely its all about fun. Sometimes Im no fan of the mods but they are on a hiding to nothing. I think we need to settle down and just have some fun. Its only a bloody fan forum not something that will change the world. And this post isnt to suck up to mods because of sure day turns tonight I will get a warning soonerthan later. IMO I wont deserve it but then againI never deserve a warning because I am the perfect poster.

Re: Administration Forum Rules
So there can be repeated and incessant abuse of 3rd parties including claiming someone should be shot but as soon as you tell someone to stick something where the sun don't shine you are accused of breaking the cyber bulling laws...right. That makes complete sense.BackFromUSA wrote:I actually didn't see Cairnsman's comment until it was quoted.stinger wrote:Cairnsman wrote:What a load of one sided biased corrupt and smelly shyte. Just out of curiosity how much public consultation was there on the addition of the quotation rule? Where is the thread that proposed the introduction of the rule and where is the members response to the proposal? Not saying it doesn't exist I just don't seem to recall that thread. If it does exist what was the criteria used to determine that the rule should be implemented? was it a vote or count of some type?

Re: Administration Forum Rules
And another thing, I wonder how Simon and his "silent majority" would feel if one of the players committed suicide because of constantly being abused and teased about his level of intellect. Surely they would be liable under the cyber bullying laws for allowing third party abuse. Granted it's an extreme example but a plausible one.
I just reckon it is a complete contradiction to take a hard line on poster versus poster type abuse and not poster versus 3rd party abuse. Moreover I don't think the cyber bullying laws make the same distinction Simon and his silent majority do.
