We have to learn how to...
Among other things, learn how to earn the soft free kicks! Sad but true.
I'm sick of seeing all these soft highs, in the backs, arm chops....they seem to all go against us, but that's because we're not trying to get tackled high.
You could say we play gentlemanly, not like cheating pricks.

Re: We have to learn how to...
Just learning how to kick it through the middle of the ground fwd is probably the biggest problem
We are just rubbish really... As rubbish as Richmond when they were crap and Melbourne also.... Luckily the system allowed them to just become contenders as matter of course, as we are supposed to?
It's disgusting to watch
I can reel of as many Collingwood kids as StK playing... And all of them probably better

Actually
Learning to kick at 20+ is almost out of the question. Up training 10+ years of a natural action is rare if not impossible. At best set shot, can improve a bit ..... I think you're either a good field kick or not.

Yep, would rather they learn how to kick and lay a tackle
I am marching in the Saints army

Josh Thomas. 29 possessions and 3 goals. Who the hell is that? I'd be stoked if one of our young kids had a game like that!

Kyle Martin would be in our starting midfield. Not looking like he will even get a game in the Collingwood senior team.Old Mate wrote:Josh Thomas. 29 possessions and 3 goals. Who the hell is that? I'd be stoked if one of our young kids had a game like that!

When under pressure a player will always kick naturally and not the way the ACADEMY has drilled them to do it.BigMart wrote:Just learning how to kick it through the middle of the ground fwd is probably the biggest problem

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

None. Didn't say he has. But I reckon 29 and 2 against West Coast would have brought our pessimistic supporters a strained smile.BigMart wrote:Which game did Luke get 29 and 3

Learn to draft some pace and also some tall, fast mids. How many short arse players have we got on our list? The future is taller mids, Saints.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

They have a killer list ATM they run really deep. Martin, Broomhead, Scharenberg and Freeman all look likely long term players. They use their money well to develop their kids and spot talent.

agree with you but what hurt is more deep down is effort the last 2 years Stkilda concede goals in defence which are pathetic
Childlike particularly near goal weak spineless effort when compared to other weaker teams
Composure when we have the ball is non existent .
Pressure when opposition have it pathetic they virtually can walk the ball out of the forward line and score.
