Re: Team vs Collingwood
time to give Jimmy Webster a run in the midfield at Sandy IMHO. A guy with his skills and pace could complement our inside mids like Dunstan very nicely.

Re: Team vs Collingwood
This is the slowest side ever fielded I would reckon. How many inside mids do we actually need?
They will run us off our feet in the first half again

Re: Team vs Collingwood
Nice to seeMurdoch grit a run. Liked what I saw of him last year. It's interesting that he's been selected almost immediately upon gaining sufficient match fitness. Suggests to me that his coach likes what he sees in him. Fingers crossed for Ross. Has made no real impact in the seniors to date. Hopefully, he can get to more contests now

Re: Team vs Collingwood
Seb Ross far too slow for mine. Very odd selection given the rest of the midfield lacks pace , other than Jack. Not sure what Dunnel needs to do to get a run.

Collingwood are not a quick side either.
That being stated, I'm sure that recruitment will look for pace in coming drafts as...yeh...nobody is pacey at all...

Re: Team vs Collingwood
Good to see Bull Murdoch in but yes its pretty obvious we lack run and spread.
Pies not the paciest side but Beams Pendlebury Sidebottom and Swan will get a lot of ball.
Also wouldn't be surprised if Elliott kicks 5.

Re: Team vs Collingwood
I have to say I am surprised Jimmy is out (it's not like we're flush with defenders at the mo), but it will be good to get another look at Murdoch.

Re: Team vs Collingwood
Hope Bull has a good game.
Hope Ross has been having a chat with his cousin on how to turn his game around, Jobe was as slow as a wet week initially.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Team vs Collingwood
If you look at the team we had at the start of the year we are missing Saunders, Webster, wright, templeton and Gilbert all of whom provide run and spread, they have been replaced with Ross, Murdoch, Siposs, billings and Schneider who are all either muddling pace or down right slow. We are getting killed in the first half of games because teams are killing us on the spread when they have run in their legs. We get back in to it in the second half when the pace is out of the game.
Let's hope this doesnt happen again this week

I thought Webster was lucky to be in the side last game TBH.SemperFidelis wrote:I have to say I am surprised Jimmy is out (it's not like we're flush with defenders at the mo), but it will be good to get another look at Murdoch.
I hope they don't make Ross the sub again, he needs a fair go.

I hope that's what they have in mind. His form has been patchy of late, but I've seen enough to suggest he's going to be a good playerZed wrote:time to give Jimmy Webster a run in the midfield at Sandy IMHO. A guy with his skills and pace could complement our inside mids like Dunstan very nicely.

Re: Team vs Collingwood
I thought Webster was playing way too loose in the backline and getting too far away from his man- Not really surprised he got dropped. The Collingwood midfielders and on-ballers are in top form, and they kick goals, so I think a lot of tagging will be going on. Even for a slower midfielder, it's easy to run and spread if your opponent is not running with you, as we saw against the Suns, and so I just want to see a bit more defensive mindset from AR, and a bit more accountability in one-on-one contests.
