Sippa was particularly up and about.

I hope they play him deep, sort of out of the goal square. Might as well use a forward - or at least a potential one like him or Lee - in that role rather than Stanley, whose lack of footy smarts and goal-sense tends to let him down.

Stanley needs to spend more time in the ruck IMO to get better value out of him.

All that said, we're going to need an exceptional effort from our on ballers to be competive in this game

Seb is fully fit, has match fitness and I'd love to see him get a full game and play well. Armo as the sub...ideal scenario...Seb plays well and demands futrther selection based on form and form alone. Armo gets through plays well as the sub and builds towards full match fitness again. FIngers crossed both players play well in the second half of the season and build momentum...

The thing is you can play him all you like out of the square in match pracbut its impossible to play like that in a game where you actually have opposition trying to make you play how you dont want to. He will have to get up the ground to cover their backmen when they attack and because we arent as good as them when we attack it will be slower which allows Maxwell or Obrien as the third man up. Rooy gets plenty of the ball because he runs. Our other marking forwards dont run as much and because of our slow play struggle to mark close to goals. Thats why they either miss a lot or dont have enough shots at goal.

I reckon the sub has to be fit enough to play a full game…

We've seen plenty of first quarter subs this year, don't want risk soft tissue on Armo if he isn't ready.

Be good to see him back though.

Couldn't agree more - other players often considered slow are: (not putting Seb in their class but just saying) Lenny Hayes, Diesel Williams, Tony Shaw, Tony Liberatore, Darren Jarman, (ok, more recent examples for the current game style), Bryce Gibbs, Rory Sloane, Matthew Boyd, Joel Selwood, Jimmy Bartel, Trent Cotchin, Mc Veigh, Simon Black, Steve Johnson, Luke Hodge, Nick DS, Ryan O Keefe, Andrew Mackie.
I could go on and may be off on a few but I think I've made my point - pace is not everything!!
Get Ball, use ball, smart running, fitness and game smarts can get you over the line easily if you have them.
I haven't seen enough of Seb to know if he has this or not but he racks up possies in the 2's and is worth persisting with in the ones to get him used to the crowd, pace, pressure, media coverage etc.

The week off should have done the young players a world of good. Dunstan looked like he struggling with legs in the last couple of games. I think the same pattern will play out with us being competitive when its in close but as soon as it gets outside Swan, Pendelbury, Lumumba etc will carve us up. Keeping possession of the footy is still a huge problem for us and that kills you these days.

They obviously don't play like they trained so are you sure you went to see St Kilda and not some other club
