Re: montagna to ablett now!!!
Down Hill skier is Montagna.....think he will be trade bait to a top 6 team looking to top up.
Happy for that to happen....he may be a decent fella but I think he has too high of an opinion of himself as a player and we
need more from a player of his experience and pay cheque !

Re: montagna to ablett now!!!
Montagna probably gets paid 80% of GA.
To suggest he is 80% as good is laughable.

I think you need to halve your imaginary salary of Montagna mate... Just bulls*** throughout multiple threads, he'd be lucky to make a third of what Ablett makes, so pull your head in.Con Gorozidis wrote:Montagna probably gets paid 80% of GA.

Montagna the frontrunner!
I guess that explains why he was our best player against Hawthorn and our second best against Brisbane.

Re: montagna to ablett now!!!
Montagna has been picking up a lot of possessions, but doesn't seem to be contributing a lot. I watched him yesterday and he just seemed to lack intensity and looked a bit lost. I'm not sure how AR is using some of these players, but there seems to be a fair bit of confusion about ball movement amongst the players in general. Montagna is his best when he is slotting a few goals, but he is not looking like it in the last few games.

A bit harsh - others could be picked on first. Yes, well down on his usual performance yesterday, but he has been a great contributor in most games this year.

Re: montagna to ablett now!!!
might have something to do with the blokes he has around him ... lets be honest there are pleanty of players who look much better when they have a strong players around them ...spert wrote:Montagna has been picking up a lot of possessions, but doesn't seem to be contributing a lot. Re: montagna to ablett now!!!
I'll grant the critics he had a very quiet game this week.
Perhaps he is injured?
There was a photo during the week of him leaving training early with some sort of headline like "Worry for Montagna".
But Geeez.
The guy is absolutely a gun player.
OK - he's not a superstar like Ablett.
But have a look at the hard work he (normally) does week in week out.
His hand are fantastic - harldly ever fumbles when he is in close and the footy is hot.
His delivery is excellent.
Recently he has been kicking goals as well.
Some have berated him for getting cheap stats by kicking out and often being the link player.
But during that first half there were numerous times when no-one had run the hard yards to be that link player.
Monty would normally do hard running to create an option for a "cheap" linking possession twenty or thirty times a game even if he wasn't used.
Lay off Monty!
If you want to pick on someone look at Schneider.
Can't kick now for nuts.
If he doesn't find something in the next two games there is no point in playing him when we could be getting some games in to Seb or Dunell.
