Considering the defence has been bombarded for a few weeks, Dempster, Delaney and Shenton has been really good all year IMO.

Should've supported geelong or hawks with that username. Footy's a lot more than winning and losing.

It's depressing isn't it. Gold Coast are about where you'd expect them to be with their 93 first rounders, but I'd hoped for a more competitive effort.

I don't mind losing big ,especially in a rebuild. But why can't we hit targets!!

Uncontested kicks not hitting chests 15 meters away? Maybe I should have pursued footy cos I could do that when I was 12.

Every pass at the guys feet. I don't get it at this level.

We would be 30 points closer if we did just that. Turnovers creating them so much space.

How was that not a handball from Dunstan?

For gods sake. That is unjust from that baby faced maggot.
in the history of the game - you have never been able to handball over your head - its a throw
That rule was changed, your allowed to now and that was not a free
Thought so

anyway.......

KEEP YOUR NERVE SAINTS FANS.

We are in for a world of pain for the next two seasons at least.

Dont get too disheartened. This is the the way it is and will be until at least 2016.

When we get some players back, we may win one or two more games for the season.

Really it is just about the churn of players.

Glad we are giving blokes like Sipposs and Milera a final go, also looking at the likes of Saunders Simpkin, Murdoch, Ross etc.

Just churn through until we are competitive again.

We will be as bad as Melbourne for a while.

Sad but true.

At least we dont lose next week.

Training for the rest of the year will be arm stretching. If we can get out arms long enough we wont have to bend over for a mark or handball receive. Plus it make it easier for those balls that go overhead as we can reach further.

That's right. As long as you hit the ball with a clenched fist, the other hand can now do as much "directing" as you want. Personally, I would like to see throwing the ball made legal. That way, our inability to hand ball wouldn't matter so much.

Looking ahead … it's depressing too think that we probably won't witness another win until 2015. I can't think of one team we can beat. It will only happen if our opposition has an off day and we play at our absolute best. Having experienced the highs of the late 2000s … this is heartbreaking stuff to cop.

Where do people actually think we are at. If roles were reversed and our list looked like theirs and they were missing a good chunk of their senior players then I would be disappointed with anything less.

Yes there are some skill problems but the rest of the season is a chance to test whether long term these skill issues will continue.

How about we get behind a VERY young, VERY inexperienced and struggling team. How about we give the gold coast some credit. Their skills are great, they went first round for a reason. Now they know the running patterns, have played together for seasons. Their midfield will be top two this time next year. I would kill for a swallow, omeara, bennall etc.

Thought for the most part the key backs have competed well. Bruce still a work in progress but will develop IMO.
We miss wright and geary as small defenders which puts pressure on webster. Ray working hard down back.
I would not mind subbing acres on for CJ and tell the kid to just run with gary and LEARN.
The forward line is still a work in progress. I still think they might click but when you are losing the midfield battle the inside 50 usage will always make it hard. I like sippa and Stanley with milera, just needs to click. Play them for a block of football to learn to play with each other.
The midfield is struggling, dunstan gets better as games go on. Weller is currently a tagger or nothing. Perhaps it's time to release curran to generate some inside ball for himself? We miss armos body and need at least two more midfielders for depth.

Richo and team need our support, we knew this would be a tough season. See the forrest from the trees people!!!

Riewoldt has had 4. Didn't realise 4 was 50% of 6? Joey is playing in the midfield, not getting double teamed like Riewoldt.

Can't fault the club too much. We're playing our best available team given a heap of injuries. We have drafted well and it looks like we're trying.

But the Gold Coast drafting allowances makes a mockery of the spirit of the competition and it is only a matter of time before utter widespread discontent enters the AFL fan base as these spiritless clubs with no genuine fans, no history and no soul turn the competition into the EPL. It's an absolute disgrace.

You obviously missed some maths classes. Can you tell me what 50% more than 4 is?

6 is 50% more than four as whiskers said

Too true.

I can still watch this. If the effort were insipid it would be different. Move Roo to the wing, Stanley CHF, Sippa out of the goalsquare. Get Curren, Weller and Lenny in the middle to win the f'ing ball.

If Longer could actually touch the ball around the ground it would be nice - one handball says it all - pathetic
