Umpiring at absolute disgrace. Schneider decision one of the worst of the year. Now I have to listen to Maclure.

Re: Carlton Game Thread
We've gone in too top heavy in defence (mainly due to injury) and their mobile forwards are cutting us up on the quick ball rebounding from our turnovers. We need to spread better to get the ball out in space where we can use it more cleanly under less pressure. Everything at the moment is "kick and hope" out of the traffic (like the Hawks game) quick isn't resulting in good delivery to our players up the ground.

Acres is a great tackler. Really wraps them up. Carlton too classy with a much better functioning fwd line. Betts killing us.

I prefer to assess players over a number of games and not have knee jerk reactions but. I think Gwilt is cooked.
Delaney and Bruce are the future key position options and Gwilt struggles with bigger opponents, but if he cannot take a smaller forward due to lack of pace then what can he do?
I have lost count of how many goals he has kicked on him.

I hate this mob. A'holes have bought so many premierships over the years and with a salary cap now have found it difficult until they started cheating. They are not good performers but seem to have our measure the last 2 games. I don't want our wonderful record in the last 10 years against this mob to falter any further or their legion of arrogant wanklers will restart spitting their rubbish all over again. They are not even pretenders but we are now making them feel better about themselves. I cant stand this mob or what they stand for.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Re: Carlton Game Thread
This is bloody woeful- even taking into account the inexperience of the team. I don't know if Richo has got his message through to the players, but I don't think anyone is listening...terrible defensive work and terrible clearance work around the packs- no system whatsoever..very undisciplined team.
Siposs and Stanley might as well go off the ground unless they show a bit of intensity in the contest. Gwilt has had it- the opposition just put their quickest forward on him and it's goodnight Jimmy. Need a BIG lift from Steven, Montagna and Schneider. Acres will be good, but a long way off the pace yet. Billings needs to be in the action a bit more- stick him in the middle Richo. Longer playing an honest game, Lenny trying hard but bombing the ball instead of picking out a man, Dunstan trying hard as is Newnes.

Don't worry, you're not exactly jumping to conclusions - he's been cooked for about 18 months now.Junior wrote:I prefer to assess players over a number of games and not have knee jerk reactions but. I think Gwilt is cooked.

Stanley, Siposs and Steven need to lift a lot.
Why doesn't Stanley go into the ruck for 5 or 10 minutes so he can get into the game?
