All in all, I don't know if we've picked the right team for this opposition.
It's a good move to bring in the extra back in Bruce, Henderson in the past has been a problem for us but with Geary and Wright out, I worry about manning up on their small forwards. Big game for Curren, maybe Acres or Weller too. Geary and Wright are really big outs.
I feel like Carlton will focus too heavily on stopping Roo and Stanley and hence there is an opportunity in this game for our faster forwards to tear them up. In that sense no Milera is a bad move and Savage may have actually been well suited to the game. Would be nice to Eli in as well.
The onus really is on Schenider to perform

As long as we look like we fit we should be right.
Get noticed for all the right reasons and then express your flair and individuality IMO.

Re: Round 8 Team
I reckon you parachute Milera into hard running ball winning side with good skills hed look like a star.
Better player than Savage imo. Savage looked ok in a winning side downhill skiing - Milera could that and then a bit more cos he can also take a speccy and has better foot skills.

Port Adelaide next year? What else would we have to throw in to get Butcher back the other way?Con Gorozidis wrote:I reckon you parachute Milera into hard running ball winning side with good skills hed look like a star.

Those wanting Johnny Butcher - just a question, have you seen him kick for goal?
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Milera needs to show a bit of mongrel tomorrow. No squibbing! Squibbing is banned.

Re: Round 8 Team
The Bruce for Simpkin selection is an interesting one. Bruce played okay his previous game but was dropped in favour of Simpkin. Now one week later they reverse the selections. Is it horses for courses against specific match ups? Are there very specific expectations that one or the other isn't meeting at AFL level? In time I think they'll both become regulars filling the roles once played by Fisher and Dempster.Cairnsman wrote:I find it strange that Savage was given 5 games to prove himself and Simpkin only got one...what's with that? Re: Round 8 Team
If I wrote on this Forum 9 months ago that our selected 'Followers' in Round 8 2014 would read:
FOL: Billy Longer, Luke Dunstan, Tom Curren
I would have been locked up for being crazy!
