Re: Kosi on Open Mike
I like how he said he really loved splitting those packs and seeing everyone lying on the ground and the ball was in his hands. He said there was no better feeling when that ball smacked into his hands and he took those one grab marks.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Kosi on Open Mike
I was disappointed in Sheahan not pursuing an answer to a very interesting question. He asked Kosi where he ranked Roo as a player. Kosi rambled, as he tended to do in the interview in general, and he never got around to answering it. Sheehan never got back to pinning Kosi down for a definitive answer. I'm sure the big fella rates his mate very highly, but it would've been good to hear just how highly.

I asked Kozi if he felt his career was impeded by playing in the same side and predominantly in the same half of the ground as Roo,White Winmar wrote:I was disappointed in Sheahan not pursuing an answer to a very interesting question. His answer was that it was a privilege to play with a "once in a generation player"
I'm going to be controversial and suggest that without the injuries Kozi would have been the better of the two!

I don't think it's too controversial, whiskers. I am firmly of the belief that his early back injury, and then the devastating head injury in 2006, greatly diminished the Kos. He showed in 2005 what he "coodabeen". Tragic waste of a brilliant talent. Still, despite everything, he was still a wonderful player.whiskers3614 wrote:I asked Kozi if he felt his career was impeded by playing in the same side and predominantly in the same half of the ground as Roo,White Winmar wrote:I was disappointed in Sheahan not pursuing an answer to a very interesting question. I said the same thing back in 2007 or so, my mates still don't let me forget it…
Kosi was unlucky but at the same time Roo has been better than I imagined he would….
Kosi lost his mobility, which was a huge weapon for him...

I love the sentiment but as soon as sides realised you simply had stop Kosi getting a run at a pack and that a midget could out body him he was not as effective and struggled to counter that.
Still I liked his honesty as a person and player and out of respect I will be just as honest - he was never in the same league as Riewoldt. He'd say that.

Re: Kosi on Open Mike
Would loved to have had kosi talk more about the Watters debacle...I got the feeling he held back, but reading between the lines, players weren't playing for the coach compared to now under Richo and kosi got dicked around by Watters over playing his 200...IMO watters always came across as blatantly lying in his media interviews, from team selection to kosi's 200, and it felt good to hear kosi say as much...pity the interview wasn't 1.5 hrs, he's a great storyteller and his insight coupled with his matter of fact talk made for great viewing!!
