Positives

Post: # 1457756Post Goose is king »

Are we ready for positives yet?
For me Stanley had his standard output in a terrible performance and that's a long term plus
Billings and Acres look good
Curren smashed Mitchell in the twenty minutes he was on (I know this is grasping at straws)
Saunders pressure was good but only what you expect of AFL players
Joey, Lenny and Steven
Longers tap work was good at times
That's all I've got

Positives.

Yesterday was a nothing match. Meant nothing and read nothing into it. Kind of an aberration.
Today is Sunday and the Zebs debut at the new Reno at TBBO.

i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Rhys Stanley's form. Not many opportunities, but Rhys is averaging 13 possessions and 8 marks per game. He's holding his marks. If he can hit the scoreboard a bit more, we'll have a good quality, tall forward. His ruck work is improving too. We'll need him now that Tom Hickey's season could be over.

I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Given we finished third bottom in 2013, lost to the bottom side last week and got pumped by 86 points on our own dung heap by an ordinary crows - i think its more of business as usual than an aberration. It was a true reflection of where we are at.

You can't just discount a match like yesterday's even if it was one out of the box, and it wasn't
Flogging don't just happen.
There are reasons we all know for it but you can't discount the severity of yesterday.

yeh that was a nice kick.. stan just needs to lead more in the 50 but i know the ball going in atm is high and average...

maybe this week Curren stops tagging and plays as a normal mid that gathers and kicks low into the 50 so stan can make a deccent lead after a few this could move a key off Roo and he can have more impact atm we're to easy three on roo and forget stan. curren and steven together with joey could do some damage.

We don't play Hawthorn until next year.

You're not grasping at straws. I agree.

(And also with 3rd generation saint  ... Next season may still be too soon!)

Weller showed a lot of heart
Easy to see Longer's potential
New big screens at MCG are brilliant
Brown and yellow much worse colour scheme than red, black and white

We might still get big Peter Wright, Durdin, Mc cartlin or Goddard.
