Funnily enough they are down to two on the bench, and we still don't look like scoring.

Send a note to the selectors, magnifiesaint. Surely, we are a bottom four team. What is the value in playing spuds like Gwilt, Jones, Ray and Geary. They're not going to be part of the future when we come good in the next 3-4 years. They just hurt, not help, the development of the youngsters.magnifisaint wrote:What would we do without Gwilty. As usual the Rock of Gilbralta in defence, has pace and great skills. Also Clint Jones awareness and pin point passing is a pleasure to watch. I'm sure the Hawk supporters are revelling in having these two players helping their cause.

Right now, this is as insipid and angering to watch as the worst days of Timid and Blight. No effort, no accountability. I didn't expect to win but at least expected them to put in after last week's ridiculous loss. F***ing disgusted with the team and their effort.

When you see an effort like this , you know the match was lost before they even took the field today !
The silly thing is they can turn around next week and win !
Playing with a bit of belief is all it takes !
The last quarter will see if they have any pride .

I think Jones will be dropped after this. Gwilt should be rested for the rest of the year.

Re: Saints v Hawks match day thread
You must be kidding. Have you been watching? Older players are valuable to younger players when they set a good example and play well. Those spuds are detrimental to the team. I don't buy this crap about the need to have senior players in the side just for the sake of it. We were able to carry the spuds under Ross Lyon because of the quality of the rest of the team. Now, we are badly exposed, because those four are considered to be in our best 22. I've got news for you. They're not. May as well play the promising kids. Can we really do worse than this? I sincerely doubt it.jonesy wrote:Because we'd get done by 230 points and not 130White Winmar wrote:Send a note to the selectors, magnifiesaint. Surely, we are a bottom four team. Re: Saints v Hawks match day thread
So many uncontested possies from Hawthorn. Just such a lack of pressure.

What's the under-over for our goals in the last? I'd be happy if we kicked a couple, I think.

Disapointed for just lack of real hard effort. Yeah, the Dawks are a good side but a bit of competitive spirit to have a crack would go a long way. They seem overawed by the occasion.

Re: Saints v Hawks match day thread
No excuse for not putting up a good effort against any team- sure the better teams win, and we can make all sorts of excuses, but this is just a plain inexcusable team effort with no on-field leadership...as if losing to crap like the Lions last week wasn't bad enough.

Yeah the second half.
Absolutely cooked between the ears. No one wants the ball.
s*** effort. A couple of blokes should probably wind up with Sandy for the rest of the year..
