Re: Stream needed for today?
Foxtel is to overly expensive for someone who just wants to watch the sports, i download everything else, dont see the point in paying $75 a month for sports.

Lots of times the internet was running slow and the quality would drop. I reckon it would work better than any dodgy stream.HitTheBoundary wrote:Good for you. But I can always watch the replay on the AFL site.....if I'm in Australia.
Outside of Australia it's blocked.
I'm merely saying that for those of us in a part of the world where a good or fast connection is not possible, it seems pointless to pay for it - knowing it is unlikely to work in my current location.

Would also appreciate a link to a stream. Thanks in advance.
Bottom line - I won't be supporting Rupert Murdoch.
Don't get me started on Foxtel.kosifantutti wrote:Have you all tried Foxtel or an AFL Live pass?

In theory I have for a 3G connection - but that doesn't mean I get 3G. I am currently in rural India.kosifantutti wrote:Lots of times the internet was running slow and the quality would drop. I reckon it would work better than any dodgy stream.
Your slow (did you say Hong Kong? - a big city) was probably better than my fast.
By all means, pay for a stream if you want to, IF you are able to watch it. But it won't work for everyone.
From their website,
"We'd recommend that you have a minimum connection of 3mbps to enjoy WatchAFL."
So they recommend 3mbps minimum. The lowest stream they supply is 336.0 kbit/s.
Most "dodgy" streams offer a 175 kbit/s speed.
My current speed at this time of day averages 35kbps. When my speed is this slow I can't stream video. I am currently listening to the AFL radio stream, and it is constantly buffering, and keeps dropping out altogether.
So I won't pay for something that won't work, and it won't work for everyone.

AFL live pass has been great for me this year. I too don't want foxtel as I'd only use it for the saints games.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
