Re: Schneider
UnlessI am mistaken, do the AFL not retain the right to challenge the MRP findings if they consider them to be manifestly incorrect ??
Would think Mark Evans would take one look at the incident, one look at the MRP charge sheet, and burst into laughter as he picks up the phone..............

Re: Schneider
Just watched it again. Baguley's reaction seemed more spontaneous and genuine that I had thought watching it in slow motion. Probably deserved a week, maybe Milera gets a chance.

Interesting? This thread, on two counts...
Still
On the actual debate
It is still subjective even with a points system. As soon as you have to grade the force, how do you determine/measure that?
On reaction
What if you hit Joel Selwood compared to Xavier Ellis??
Unexpected vs Expected?
That was a love tap at best... It was no Hall on Maguire... The biggest shame I tribunal history... Alongside Baker on Farmer I suppose?!
If that gets the same penalty as a swinging arm by Thompson with intent to hurt... The game is actually a bigger farce than I even thought

Enjoyed witnessing Sneids back and delivering some cool-headed pieces of play. Just heard he may miss next rd. **** !
but not an injury so regrouping and producing another v. valuable performance is a real possibility in Rd. 7 if not Rd. 6.
I'm loving the blend of senior players really producing quality footy alongside the obvious discipline and belief of our young Sainters.
Saints are just enjoyable to watch and it's great to see the 'old-timers' as Rooey puts it enjoying themselves too.
All the Saints fans l bumped into after the ess. win had a real skip in the stride.
All aboard Sneids Don't miss out !

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Sorry, just realised I didn't quote. Was referring to the Glass incident being a manifestly incorrect outcome.True Believer wrote:UnlessI am mistaken, do the AFL not retain the right to challenge the MRP findings if they consider them to be manifestly incorrect ??

Re: Schneider
good lord a week for that because of carry over points
ok fair enough that it is all there in black and white yadda yadda yadda
but c'mon.
things three times as worse get the same punishment
but yup
complete numpty act
will be spewing and prob so would richo seeing as adam had a great return to the side
need him fit and constantly on the park in the 22, not doing numpty little love taps that get you the same punishment for clothes-lining some bloke.
wonder what hodge will get offered?
wonder how many points he has over his head?

Re: Schneider
So Hodgy gets off from what looks like similar incidents, not that I get too carried away with tribunal outcomes but I'm just wondering in this instance why the Hodge incident doesn't attract a charge?Cairnsman wrote:Yeah it will be interesting to see what that incident attracts from the MRP.StGoddard18 wrote:Luke Hodge should get a week then for punching Johnson in the guts.

Re: Schneider
Well there is definitely a punchline, coz' this is a bloody joke.Contact between Hawthorn’s Luke Hodge and Geelong’s Steve Johnson from the second quarter of Monday’s match was assessed. The ball has gone out of bounds when Hodge and Johnson come together and Hodge makes contact with Johnson to the stomach. After viewing all the available footage and receiving a medical report from the Geelong Football Club, it was the view of the panel that the force used by Hodge was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

Re: Schneider
So a swinging arm to the guts is not a striking action?Contact between Geelong’s Tom Hawkins and Hawthorn’s Will Langford from the third quarter of Monday’s match was assessed. Geelong’s George Horlin-Smith is running with the ball and player Langford turns to chase him. Hawkins attempts to shepherd for his team-mate and makes body contact with Langford. Hawkins has an open hand when the contact is made and it was not a striking action. No further action was taken.

Yep it looked like it was worth the same as Schneider.
