I've never wanted Farren Ray out of the team, and certainly not traded or delisted. His overhead marking is absolutely elite, his link up and run is A grade and his disposal is serviceable and often very good.
Re: Farren Ray...you're a saint champ!!!
Before this season he never justified his spot as a true midfielder. This season he is. That's the difference.

IMO he is more consistant, not as bit a gap between his good games and the average ones.Would play a great game then hardly sighted next

One of the greatest things he does is run backwards with the flight of the ball to attempt an overhead mark or spoil. As we know he can clunk em too in those situations. Now that is real ballsy if you ask me...I've always been a fan and never understiod the calls to move him on.

While some truth to that. The Fireman wrote:Just love SS...one minute any of our players are to be sacked or at least burnt at the stake , the next they are elevated to legend status...Fickle I hear ??
A big factor is that a particular players advocates will tend to post more when that player has a good game , and his baggers when he has a not so good one.

Averaging 25 disposals this season ( 17.8 kicks)
5.6 marks also
Ive said this for a while now, he reminds me a little of the way David Grant used to play.
Well done Faz keep it up.

Faz is having a brilliant season so far. Top 5 B&F at this stage.
He hasn't played this well since early 09'.
Unfortunately his disposal is still sub-par and hence, he's part of a group of guys (along with CJ) whose spots should become up for grabs in the next 12 or so.

His occasional sloppy disposal aside, he's a real solid player
2/ Sadly, more than just occasional sloppy disposal. The irony is that Faz looks so classy with all that he does. That includes his kicking style. The ball comes off the boot beautifully... till one sees where the kick goes.
That said, I've noticed he has been finding targets this year. What I've also noticed is that instead of floating his kicks a bit so they hang for too, he's really been spearing a lot of his passes. Although I'd have thought that's actually a harder kick to execute, it really seems to have, uhmmm, turned his turnovers around.
Anyone else noticed this...?
I have had a yo-yoing opinion on Faz. I loved him for a few years but then I grew frustrated with his turnovers and gave up on him - now I'm back in love.
Has definitely improved that aspect of his game where he used to receive the ball after someone else's hard work, run 15m in the clear with zero pressure, ignore 2 or 3 good leads and kick it 40 m over our leading players heads straight to 3 opposition players. Used to drive me insane. Not just because it was a turnover - but if often happened when were in the clear and therefore had all our players running fwd - this mean it ws often a costly turnover as the other side would often get a sling shot goal on the rebound.
But he hasn't been doing that this year. Seems to be making an effort to honour leads or at least kick to a 50:50. Vast improvement.
